Seriously doubt that commercial ship owners would invest in systems design to resist such EW attacks. Leaving them open to burn out of navigation and GPS systems. Not to mention radio communications and other systems designed to steer or power the ship. Some ships could be hacked and used to ram other ships or burst into flames. The possibilities are endless. |

An enemy sub would not need to fire a missile or a torpedo to take out a commercial transport ship. Merely raise an antenna array up out of the ocean and blast the ship with a nuclear powered EW signal at the vulnerable ship. Be it a supertanker or container ship. The EW power of a nuclear submarine would be far greater than that a fighter jet could deliver. |
