Re: What happened to us?
I'm not big on children, infants & toddlers even less so. One day in 2003, my occupational activities took me into a medical clinic in one of the poorer parts of town, a clinic big into obstetrics, pre & post natal care. Off to one side of the entrance lobby was a kiddie play area full of brightly colored toys and things to keep the little ones occupied while the moms cooled their jets awaiting the doctor visit.

As I strolled in, somewhere between oblivious & completely distracted, as I really didn't want to be there to review some boring personal medical records, a little boy toddler, so young he'd only recently learned to walk, ambled out of the play area and directly into my path. We both stopped & made wordless eye contact

In that instant, I warped out of this world & into a world that was utterly silent and w/o motion.

The child looked up at me and he was absolutely radiant. I mean he literally GLOWED. There was an aura around his head, as in those Christ figure art icon thingies.

He was the most beautiful living thing I'd ever laid eyes on. (His mother was no looker.)

Out of the blue, I was overcome w/what can only be called agape.

Freaked me the hell out. Never happened before & hasn't happened since.

I put it right up there w/a UFO experience, which I have never had. It was that otherworldly.

Glowing kids...it happens. Strange juju.

Re: What happened to us?
oh I agree, but I was looking for the "cause" not necessarily the reasons or outcome. I didn't want anyone packing their bags and going on some type of guilt trip, but only focusing on things they have no control over, such as the air they breath, the water they drink, the food they eat, ect...

Peace

That is the whole point CO. We do have control over our lives, but society in general has made it easy to become 'not responsible' for those choices. A few examples: Do you live in a city so blame that for the lack of fresh foods instead of the chemical induced store stuff? You complain because new clothes are expensive, Do you shop for clothes at a name brand store, an off brand store, or do you wear used clothing? Do you buy them with a cridit card? It is all a choice. Clear down to the dirt under your feet. There is nothing (quoting you here)" they have no control over" That is exactly the mindset I was talking about.

Root cause: I would say greed, slothfulness, envy, covetousness, all promoted by our daily intake of whatever we CHOOSE. Ultimately it is OUR choices that we make that allows those thoughts or activities into our lives. We cannot blame the tv, we can choose not to watch, the radio? we can choose not to listen. the magazines? the newpapers? What are we choosing as humans/individuals? That is the question. We already know what has happened to us, society has chosen the path they are on, it is up to us individually NOT to follow those choices.
 Quoting: JCD

I understand what you are saying and the responsibility that goes with it, but I’m talking about those things that are out of your control, especially as a child. Example…A child does not have a choice when the parent sits them in front of that TV..do they? Depends on the age and maturity level of the child and if they be capable to just walk away from it…lol, ya right.

Believe me, that TV would have went the way of the dodo, if it wasn’t for Sponge Bob…

What I’m driving at here friends is that there are things in this life that we have no control of what so ever. I’m not looking to blame anyone for anything and I believe most of us here would agree that we all need to be responsibility to one another, to love one another.

Can we choose not to breath? God only knows what’s in the air these days or the water we drink, that has some not so user friendly chemicals in it. These are the things I was referring to, among other not so healthy things we are subjected to though out our lifetime without our knowledge or consent.

I didn’t want some of you to get bummed out about it, heaven forbid.

So I do apologize if I wasn’t crystal clear on the matter

Relax friends..I’m easy...like a Sunday morning… :)

Re: What happened to us?
children retain love and innocence even in horrible conditions

it really is our own guilt that changes us
the age of accountability comes
and we know that we desire to do what is not loving or wise
the goal is to admit that we have those desires
and ask for forgiveness, cleansing and healing
this can restore us more quickly to that state of innocence

but, blaming others will only make us harder and more prideful

Perhaps friend, but it represented something far more to me…the innocence of humanity in general. I read once that babies can communicate to one another without the use of words, as we know them. And then there is of course the fact that a smile is universal…:)

Strange isnt it,that we cant remember that part of our lives, or while we are in the womb. Some people may have specific memories from that age, but usually not many. That innocence is precious and molds and drives us. I agree that it is much more than Kindred Spirits. I wasnt trying to be flippant. It was the first thought that came to mind, and was meant in a positive way. Now if everyone could experience that kind of emotion on a daily basis, I would venture to say that most of our problems could disappear. Heres to more of this kind of news. Peace

Re: What happened to us?
Brianna

A few years ago, the “girls”, as I call them..My Wife, daughter and Grand daughter and I, went out to lunch together at Uno's…as we sat there talking and such, I notice a small boy , around 3 years old walking up to my grand daughter, a year and ½ old at the time, who was seated directly across the table. As this small boy approached my little girl, time seemed to suddenly stop…One of those “suddenly” moments…It was something God wanted me to definitely “see”. The small boy was standing no more then a foot away from her, probably closer to 4 or 6 inches..close enough to kiss and they where both looking directly at each other..face to face, eye to eye. Well within that “zone” we humans have…you know, that “zone” of about 3 to 4 feet that we as humans don’t allow anyone to enter into, unless its safe..ya, that “zone”.

Anyway, time suddenly stops, as these two total strangers eye’s met you could “see” that there was some type of communication between them, one of Love, so much so you could “see” a “glow” around them, but there was no emotions, nor any words spoken…just this beautiful union between 2 humans..so innocent, so pure..so lovely. Then, after a few moments, the little boy stepped back, walked over to his mom that was watching and proceeded to walk out of the restaurant…as she walked by she smiled as if she “saw” the same thing just happen.

After “witnessing” all this, I was reminded how most grownups “act” toward one another as they get older. With tears in my eyes and my heart ready to explode, I looked at my daughter and said…WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO US, AS HUMANS?…
 Quoting: The Cherished One

In short, Love witheld, is violence to those to whom such is witheld. With each blow of said "violence" do those violated then themselves return the "violence" thereby spreading the "epidemic". People generally operate in this domino type fashion and such is well known by those ruling this realm, those who greatly utilize this to their own selfish ends.

In a more simple picture the sharing of Love can be seen as a room full of people, each holding a glass of water which is self filling. All of the people in the room, as is typical for people, daily need to drink from these glasses but the "trick" is that no one can drink from their OWN glass. Now, if this group is in the right mind set, no one will ever get parched as all will understand and care for the needs of others in the same way as they themselves are cared for. The trouble enters when some in the group decide that they "don't feel" like giving of themselves in that way (or is manipulated into such state through the many systems in place), and therefore spend their time "huckstering" drinks out of others while they themselves put away their glass.

As time passes, the many will "make up" for the few, but a time in the distant future arrives when the original problem spreads as those more often refused then themselves withdraw. As this situation becomes epidemic, as is the case surrounding us today, the few "hangers on" become overwhelmed and worn out while the "vampires" now virtually hunt in packs for that which, once upon a time, was universally abundant.

And of course, the above is an oversimplification of the reality, but is a start nonetheless. There are spiritual age considerations as well as personal origination issues. (aka family types or lack thereof)

On a personal note TCO, you have a GRANDAUGHTER?!!

Damn I feel old. LOL

Re: What happened to us?

What happened to us is nothing less
than the loss of childhood's sweet innocence!

As children, we know only love,
& to show it, we don't hesitate,
but as we grow up, it seems we devolve
as we're gradually taught about fear & hate.

But as a species, there's still hope for us
as desribed in "Hope for the Flowers"
written by Trina Paulus:

For all of us who love butterflies (with a childlike innocence),
there's a *children's* book, 'Hope for the Flowers' by Trina Paulus
which is an enduring fable that poignantly describes
the adventures of 2 caterpillars becoming butterflies.

Yellow & Stripe struggle in their climb to get to the the top of a mound leading somewhere
only to find their attempt futile & leading to mounds of caterpillars going nowhere.
But all is not lost, for there's more than one way to get high
which they will discover after learning that they were meant to fly.

The book is a marvelous metaphorical tale of metamorphosis
& reaching our innate potential through the process
of transcending the *alchemical* cocoon of the dark night of the soul
before finally evolving into a wonderful winged creature of light capable...

of flight... & soaring into the sky...
& is a book highly recommended by
another winged creature of which you might have heard,
& that is, of course, the little bird!

Yes, hopefully, if we make it a habit
to read children's books like The Giving Tree,
Hope for the Flowers, The Little Prince & The Velveteen Rabbit,
then, eventually, we will see...

What happened to us is nothing less
than the loss of childhood's sweet innocence!
Can we get it back? I think we can if we try
to view life, once again, thru innocent child-like eyes!

Reminds me of the "redneck" custom.
We nod or wave when passing in a truck, say "hello" to strangers, ask about one's kin (and mean it), offer to help people in need- it's a human communication, often non-verbal.
There is a kinship among these people. From babies to grown adults. Maybe it's spiritual, who knows. But it's real.

BTW, definition of "Damn Yankee".......A Yankee who BOTH visits and STAYS in the south. All visiting Yankees are generally told "oh, bless your heart" for their usual behaviour but are not full fledged "damn yankees". hf

but as we grow up, it seems we devolve
as we're gradually taught about fear & hate.

Re: What happened to us?
Good morning GLP

This is more along the lines of what I was referring to…

From another thread…

Thread: December 23rd 2007 - The Day of Destiny (Page 85)

351907 … quote

…we have been dumbed down by pharmaceutical drugs, fluoridated water, harmful frequencies, and lord knows what else since the dawn of the industrial revolution ... end quote

Lets keep it simple folks…just the issues themselves…
I guess I just don't get your point. If you already know that all those are the culprit, and we have no control over some of them, why are you asking?

We kind of got start off on the wrong foot JCD, (misunderstanding the original question) and I do apologize for not being clear on the matter. Yes, I knew the answer and so does GLP in general. After thousands of threads read and hundreds of people and ideas coming though this place…yes, you know GLP, but I suspect that it just maybe too much to ask many of our friends here because it is a “touchy” subject…I understand friends, you have been though a LOT and my heart is very tender to you all on these matters, for they do effect us all.

Now, back to the original question. What I was getting at folks is that if you many of you understand some of these things that effect us, how do you think God himself views these things?

Mercy

Now I’ll let you all think about that one a bit.

Peace

P.S.

Sorry for the delay folks, just busy with life on this end.
