Spirituality is the opposite of religion, religion is a substitute for spirituality. Spirituality is a direct connection to Creator The Most high.

Proverbs 19.

Reassurance.

We have reassurance from our heavenly Father that if we "abide" in Him (another way of looking at "abiding", to me, is "snuggling"...isn't that what the apostle who Jesus loved, did?)

If we abide in our heavenly Father, the bottom line is that we are SAFE with and in Him.

What can harm us if we are snuggled His wing?

Proverbs 20.

Blessed Generations.

When we walk righteously before God, our children will be blessed after us, even if it seems that they have wandered off just like the Prodigal Son. His father was a righteous man, and since he was, he surely kept praying for his son. And what happened? One day the father saw, afar off, a very weary and tattered figure coming down the road. As he looked closer, he saw it was his son.

It was GOD ho brought his son back to him. In the end, his son returned to him, and repented. And what did the father do? He CELEBRATED!

Proverbs 21.

WHOSE BATTLE IS IT?

The verse below reminds me of what i'm reading in Judges right now. Man can do this, that, and the other, and THINK they "got this", but the bottom line is, that GOD'S got the final word.

Goliath just KNEW he "had this" with David. But guess what? David KNEW that God "had this". David was also wise enough to know WHO was fighting Goliath. It wasn't HIM, it was GOD, just as it is written "the battle is the Lord's".

He knew that God has the "last word".

Not man.

Not even Goliath.

"The horse is made ready for the battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord." -Proverbs 21:31

Proverbs 22.

THE GENEROUS HEART.

God pours out blessings on the "generous-hearted". In actuality He chases them down and overcomes them with blessings hahaa

The bottom line, is that when someone is "generous-hearted", they have ALREADY surrendered theid hearts, minds, and wills to God, and are in the realm of delighting in and desiring to blesx God's heart, because they delight in, and love God with all their hearts, minds, souls, and strength, and therefore their greatest desire is to please Him. And a generous heart PLEASES Him.

When we please Him, there is NO WAY or ANYWHERE one can "hide" from His blessings, for they will hunt us down and overtake us, and that is because they ALWAYS find their mark, because they do exactly what He sends them to do.

What a most delightful God He is.

"He that hath a bounriful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor." -Proverbs 22:9

Proverbs 23.

THE WISDOM TO "HEAR".
AKA: RAISING BEAUTY FROM ASHES.
AKA: GROWING "WINGS".

"The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and hd that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. The father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice." -Proverbs 23:24-25

God is gracious, in that when He grants wisdom to those who "fear" Him, He also changes their "heart" into a heart more like "His" own heart. Along with the "change of heart" there is discernmdnt and a re-newed "honor" for our mothers and our fathers. It is all put into perspective. We HONOR them for how God used each of them to bring us into this world, even with all of their weaknesses, foibles, and ineptness. We are able to give them "due honor" for those things they DID tell us that were right.

When we give "due honor" to our mothers and our fathers, God blesses us, and the bottom line is that we are set free from the constraints and a "forever-whining" heart that is stuck in the chains of the realms of a long-ago time lapse, where time "stands still" and of which there is no escape, and no healing, and no "wings".

God, along with His wisdom , gives us the "wings of an eagle". And we find that He did not just do so for our sakes alone, but for the sakes of our mothers and our fathers who were not able to, or could not ask for forgiveness. God uses us to be the "key turner" to free them from that prison.

It is THEN that healing commences.

In the meantime, we are able to decipher those words and those things that our mothers and fathers said and did that WERE healthy and edifying, and to give them their due honor for it.

This is how God raises beauty from ashes.

"Listen to your father who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old." -Proverbs 23:22

Proverbs 24.

STRENGTH.

Strength from God is based on, and rooted in, a quiet confidence in the living God, just as it is written in this verse:

"In quietness and confidence shall be your strength." -Isaiah 30:15

Through God, even as the, world rages around us, and even if the mountains crash into the sea, we can do this:

"Be still and know that I am God." -Psalm 46:10

He is our true peace and therefore, we can be "still", as we are quiet and still, and confidently TRUST in Him, which is how He strengthens and sustains us.

"The wise are mightier than the strong, and those with knowledge grow stronger and stronger." -Proverbs 24:5

Proverbs 25.

HEALING WORDS.
AKA: WORDS ARE POWERFUL.

"A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver." -Proverbs 25:11

A simple and genuine kind word can dissipate anxiety. What comes to mind for me, is that it is like a spiritual "anti-virus" that gets that ol' bully-serpent to retreat from his "target". He has no defense against it. As a matter of fact, it "disarms" him.

Those kind words are, behind-the-scenes, putting a wallop on that ol' slithering, bad-mouthing bully. And that is because those kind words are spiritual "weapons", so to speak. And that slithery piece o' work is, as it were, essentially "allergic" to them.

Who'd'a thunk that kind, encouraging words are that ol' bully's worst nightmare?

"Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up." -Proverbs 12:25

Proverbs 26.

WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.
AKA: GODLY "POETIC JUSTICE."

"Whoever digs a pit for others will fall into it Whoever tries to roll a boulder down on others will be crushed by it." -Proverbs 26:27

God warns us that if we intend harm towards others, and plan their demise and/or destruction, whether literally, or even in our hearts, that we will stumble over or fall into that destruction-intention ourselves.

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." -Galatians 6:7

Proverbs 27.

THE TRUTH.
AKA: WHEN SPARKS FLY.

"Open rebuke is better than secret love. Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful." -Proverbs 27:5-6

It is better to hear "truth" from a friend, even if it is difficult to hear. It may cause pain, but it is better to feel this pain than not be told the truth, and to instead, fester in deceit and rot.

Reality is ALWAYS our "friend".

"The wisest man who ever lived said: "Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another." -Proverbs 27:17
But: Sharpening metal involves friction. It always generates heat. And sometimes sparks fly!" -Bill Ogden

DISCOVERING "GEMS".

A verse that stands out for me is verse 4, the last sentence where it's asked about "his son's name"...This is a very clear question about God's only begotten Son, our very own Jesus Christ, right here in Proverbs!!! Praise God!!!

"What is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?" -Proverbs 29:9

This verse below comes to mind:

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path." -Psalm 119:105

And this verse:

"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." -Jeremiah 33:3

A verse that i find timely and powerfully gracious, describing a Godly woman is this one:

Another verse is this one, describing her very wise and gracious and kind heart:

Proverbs 1.

DELIGHTING IN GOD.
AKA:"KNOWING GOD".

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; but fools despise wisdom and instruction." -Proverbs 1:7

The precious thing about God's grace is that once you see His heart, take the time to get to know Him and His Word, it isn't about that kind of fear (or dread) anymore...it becomes a love built on a "respect" of acknowledging Who He is and giving Him His "due" so to speak. A "delight" of Him and His Word begins to take place, like in this song i heard this morning:

DIGGING..
AKA: CALLING OUT TO GOD.

"There is a treasure buried in God's Word, but those who only scratch the surface will never find it." -Unknown

When we are "hungry" for God, and His Word, and "delve" (dig as if with a shovel) into it, we are "calling out" to God.

"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." -Jeremiah 33:3

When we "call out" to Him, He will surely answer us, just as it is written, and in the answering of us, show us all KINDS of "hidden treasures" not seen before or noticed or fathomed.

"If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

TRUSTING: ONE-STEP-AT-A-TIME.

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not on your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." -Proverbs 3:5-6

God is a GOOD Shepherd. He teaches us, oh so patiently, at a pace that we can absorb, as we learn to TRUST Him, step-by-step-by step, just as He did with Gideon.

Proverbs 4.

BE WISE.
AKA: GUARDING OUR HEARTS.

We are admonished to be wise. Especially when it comes to what "captures" our hearts and/or attention, lest we become enamored and/or ensnared by it, whether it be man or "things" of this world. This would include anything that competes with the living God.

We are rminded and admonished that we all (all of mankind) bears this weakness; a "fickleness", if you will; getting distracted just like sheep, and wanderinv off to our own demise. The Prodigal son comes to mind. He became enamored with the world, and all that he thought he was "missing out" on. And he rannnnnnnn to it, getting all encumbered in it, with all the gusto he had. It got so bad he was eating the leftovers from the pigs. What he found was that the world, that he was so feverishly enamored with, chewed him up and spit him out. The wisest thing he did was to stumble on back to his father, who was a very gracious, kind, merciful, and forgiving man who LOVED him.

This father represents our heavenly Father, Who is ready to grant mercy and forgiveness to us,no matter how muddied we are from wallowing with thd pigs. We need to just GO TO Him and seek the forgiveness that He is chomping at bit to grant us.

At least the Prodigal son "woke up". Thank GOD he did. And we can do the same.

We need only to wake up and smell the coffee and GO TO our heavenly Father with our muddied-beaten-up-by-the-world selves, and spill it all out to Him.

In the meantime, let's learn to heed ur Father's warning to "guard our hearts".

Amen?

"Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life." -Proverbs 4:23
