Need some advice. I know what's coming from my employer.
Moved my family to WNC a few years ago to get away from the craziness where we used to live. I'm up in t he mountains where we want to be. I work for a large employer and have for about a decade. I make enough so my wife can stay home and homeschool our daughter...

I'm certain at some point my employer could mandate vaccines. I'm not doing it. My wife and I made a pact and are going to stand by our decision.

I live in a small town with not a lot of jobs. I'll do whats necessary to make money to support us but what can I be doing now to make the transition easier from a "sure thing" to the unknown.

My wife is adamant and I thought to myself worse case scenario I'd take the shit so they wouldn't have to and hope for the best. I just can't bring myself to that right now.

I'm asking for some real support here GLP family. Been here a long time waiting for doom. It came... I'm not so sure I wanted it after all.

You'll see a tab label "legal" that has a lot of good resources that you can down load and print.

Also, you may want to consider submitting a religious exemption form to your employer/HR department.

Good luck and be safe!

My husband is in a position that we moved 5 states and 13 moves over the last 18 years to get. Every step up was a pay cut the first year. It’s been a long ride to get him here.

We decided he’ll get fired and make ends meet until his job realizes the value of an unvaxxed employee, because you know that time is coming.

We will not take the stab.

Hey neighbor, foothills of NC here. My wife and I are in the same boat, but fortunately she works from home. I’m scrambling to get a manufacturing business off the ground, should I be forced out of my career (engineer). I work for a pretty conservative company, but a recent statement by the CEO made me believe that they’re just waiting for the moment to mandate.

Think about what people want, and figure out how to make it. I have a friend who started selling silly signs on Etsy during lockdown and cleared ~$140k. My two cents, fwiw

This is true.

News stories about a number of big companies going to mandate vaxx but I think most companies are not in a position to take that risk.

Where I work, if the company lost 20% of their employees and had to replace them on short notice, they'd be screwed. They would lose some of their best people in that and it would set them back years.

I know this because the vaxxed don't have to wear masks where I work so you know who isn't vaxxed. Most of the sharpest people there are unvaxxed.

All the president of the company has to do is walk around and see who is still unvaxxed and ask himself if he is willing to risk losing most of them. I highly doubt he is.

To me...this is a no brainer!

I put my job on the line several times when ordered to do something illegal. I refused.

To order anybody to be injected with anything that is EXPERIMENTAL is a crime against humanity! And I WOULD POINT THAT OUT TO THE HEAD HANCHO OF THE BUSINESS!!!

Brace for impact, outlast. This nonsense can only go on so long. Fight it off intellectually, but have contingencies for contingencies. It's my opinion that this is the greatest game of BLUFF Texas holdem we've ever seen.

Regardless, there are exemptions for everyone. Medical and religious are big. Religious can NOT be debated, so have an attorney draw up papers and present to your employer. It's a lawsuit in the making if they deny it.

Contingency:
Everyone is very wealthy with their 401ks and savings. They can weather the storm for YEARS. Upon any illegal firing, not only is a lawsuit available, 401k's distribute immediately.

We the people, have them by the balls. Not only are their worker shortages, they won't have shit when half of their people threaten to John Galt these fucks.

I know I'm in full control. I give zero fucks, none, zero, ziltch.

you can't just go out and decide to be a farmer. it's usually generational families doing it and is cost prohibitive to break into at any kind of scale. small time maybe yeah with special kinds of crops, but generally speaking it's very, very expensive to get into.

Have been thinking a lot about this too and glad to see I'm not alone in this.

It is indeed an absolute blessing that my wife too is of the same mind as I am in not taking the vax.

I'm an engineer as well (of the EE sort) in an absolutely excellent small company for well into my second decade now. Truly enjoy my work and the people I work with.

However, as it is Federal contracting, I absolutely can see it coming down the road to where they require it as part of our contracts (they make all sorts of things essentially business requirements this way, even if it is completely inane).

So, like you, I have been considering my options to start a business (again) or some sort of other line of work.

What I have some up with is to take my hobby of trading Crypto and move into it full time.

It has several advantages, not the least of which is that it can be done anywhere (thanks to Starlink) and has the potential to be the most independant (you can trade in other countries exchanges or even in entirely decentralized exchanges).

It is also something where you can (if you wanted to/needed to) pick up and move your operation easily to another location in country or another country entirely. All you need is to remember your passwords... :)

So that is my plan - I have been practicing living off the profits only while I still have my day job. It's been a real learning experience, but the pressure has been good in helping focus and learn new things.

Whatever the future has in store, much good luck to you and remember that we are not alone, there are many others out there too.

Maybe we'll wind up with a parallel economy - one with all the "smart", talented and productive people in it!
