If "IT" requires restraints the parent should have brought them along and used them before boarding. There is always a second option

I am begining to think that they need padded and sound proofed Jail Cells on airplanes ... about the size of an airplane lavetory would do.

Start locking people up in those rooms when they act up while flying ... and then make sure they are arrested and put into a REAL jail cell for at least 48 hours once they arrive at the destination. NO MORE of this taken off the plane and then released BULLSHIT. LOCK EM UP for at least 48 hours!!

I also don't get young couples need to traumatize an infant by flying with kids under 2 years old. Not only is it painful and scary for the child, the potential for hundreds of people to be made miserable should be enough to say "let's wait til there are old enough to understand the word no".

But they don't, they feel entitled to every space that used to be for grown ups.

I feel a segregated society coming on, by lifestyle choices, not race. They should have had "nanny flights years ago, where it's mostly all familes with infants and toddlers, with a nurse onboard. One a day to LA or NY, is that not a reasonable idea?

It was actually two brothers, both behaving the same way.

The 11 year old was restrained, the 13 year old managed to calm down and was not restrained.
