Paypal putting the thumb screws down for those still using it.
We all know Paypal went to shit.

Some people still use it anyways, for various reason.

You now are not able to log in to your Paypal Account without a mobile phone.

You use to just be able to skip the option of entering a mobile number, not any longer and to be real, some people do not have a cell phone, essentially locking them out of their account.

A lot of people left Paypal already and for good reason. This type of thing is just going to drive more people away.

Well they also let the ADL police their users and look at their purchase and sell history which can't be legal.

my fix, I won't use their service and won't buy anything from anybody that requires paypal.

Yes, I believe this to be true.

I had a successful ebay biz with over 50k in sales per month until paypal shut me down for selling "prohibited items". Meanwhile, they never touched any of my competitors.

I suspect that it was political. They figured out that I'm "far-right" and that was all it took.

In Canada we have interac. It's direct from the merchant to your bank without any intermediary. I haven't used Paypal in over 10 years.

Actually thank you for reminding me. I closed my account down right now.

To you I say, you are small minded, close minded, and quite pathetic. You know who you are because you know what I have written is true.

Hmm....

maybe why I've gotten "copyright strikes" for certain items
when I see dozens of other Ebay sellers with similar items who haven't been affected....

A burner phone with enough minutes to handle things like paypal costs as little as $20.00. Leave it turned off in metal when you don't need it.

There's no reason for having regular cellphones.

It's a two factor authentication protocol that they use to let you choose to bypass.

Well, they sprung this shit on me today when I tried to log in.

One, I don't live in cellular service area. Two the landline I receive calls on is in a separate building. So it's inconvenient to have to field calls going from building to building.

I fixed the issue having to do just that, but it wouldn't let me into my account until I ran the freaking Marathon for them.

They just sprung this shit on me out of the blue.

So, that's two hours spent that I had planned doing something else......

Just got of the phone with HR supervisor.

I explained my circumstance and he seemed legitimately intrigued...heh.

Said it was something they should probably look into as there are others that are likely experiencing similar situation as me and it's a valid issue.

On the community page, I noted I wasn't alone in this.

He said he would make note of it and bring the issue up for discussion.

I think their desire ( or evils desire) is to mandate its use like in China.

PayPal has been crap for years. I dumped them when they refused to represent a chargeback and gave a refund to a customer who never returned the item.

Well, I know how they threw GLP under the bus. I considered leaving then.

Thing is, I shop from home. Don't get out much. Been a customer since 2007. That is primarily the only reason I am still with them.

Not fond of change.

Too much of it happening all at once just makes you want to rip your hair out you know?

Because it is.
