Even with unlimited resources you can't prep for everything.

I do agree it's wise to have some extra food and supplies, but what's coming is a little more intense than a blizzard or a hurricane. Ok, it's way more intense.

Don't stress! God is the only prep you need.

God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

There are many examples in the bible of God's protection and provision.

God never fails but He operates "just in the nick of time "

He didn't part the Red Sea until the Israelites were right up against the water.

He does things "last minute " so that it's obvious He is the one doing it. It's his M.O.

My favorite example of God's miraculous provision is that story of Elijah and the widow of Zarephath.

Elijah the prophet had gone to King Ahab, Israel’s most wicked king, to declare a drought. There would be no rain, not even dew, because of Israel’s evil idolatry until Elijah declared it over.

As Israel went into extreme drought, God tucked Elijah safely away from the murderous Ahab. God first sent Elijah to a stream where God had ravens make a daily bread delivery. But when even the stream dried up, God sent Elijah to a widow in the gentile village of Zarephath.

When Elijah arrived at the Zarephath city gates, he spotted a young widow gathering sticks. The only problem? This widow had no bread. In fact, she was gathering sticks to make a last meal for herself and her son, and then die.

You can almost hear the despair in this single mom’s words as she told Elijah she had “only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it – and die.” (1 Kings 17:12)

Elijah answered: “Do not be afraid.” He instructed her to make a small loaf for him first and afterward, some for herself and her son with this promise from God: the flour jar would not become empty nor the oil jug run dry until the day the Lord sent rain again.

The widow did as Elijah said. And afterward? Her flour jar never became empty and her oil jar never ran dry just as God had promised. In fact, the widow, her family and Elijah had food through the entire multi-year drought.

More about Elijah and the widow here, some I pasted:

Please feel free to add more examples from the bible or from your own experiences.

God says, get ready! Do not be afraid!

Encourage each other!

It's going to be ok!

Well maybe not ok right away but He'll be with us in the storm. Team God wins!

I'll add to this more later, looking forward to your comments!

Much love!

The story of Elijah teaches us about God's provision .

Daniel teaches us about God's protection:

Have you ever been in a lions’ den?

For most of us, the answer is probably NO, but metaphorically, that might be a different story. What I’m really asking is this: Have you ever been in a situation where you felt trapped, without options or a way out? Have you ever felt betrayed by the people you trusted? Have you ever wondered if God is big enough to pull you out of that difficult thing you’re facing?

In Daniel 6, the entire nation of Judah was in captivity. These people probably often felt defeated, yet they clung to the hope and the promise of a coming Messiah to save them.

In the midst of this, Daniel, a Judean, is working for King Darius and gains favor with him. The king positions Daniel for advancement, but this leads to jealousy from the king’s other administrators (Daniel 6:1–5). They knew Daniel served the God of Israel, which was in direct opposition to what the king had commanded. So they convinced the king to put an ordinance in place that anyone who chose to worship another god would be thrown into the lions’ den (vv.6–9). But instead of worshipping in secret or putting his faith on the back burner, Daniel continued praying to God publicly, despite the decree.

Three times a day he got down on his knees,
prayed, and gave thanks to his God,
just as he had done before (Daniel 6:10).

This clash between faith and politics resulted in Daniel being thrown into the lions’ den, even though the king desperately tried to save him. Once inside the den, the king tells Daniel to call out to his God for help. You see, even Darius recognized that Daniel’s God was living and active, something he saw by observing Daniel’s faith. The next morning, the king comes to check on Daniel, only to find he’s miraculously unharmed! (vv.21–22).

Here’s what this story shows us: No matter how dire things may look, there is NO situation created by man that God cannot change (v.17). There’s no principality, no power, no earthly ruler, or law greater than the one true God. The whole book of Daniel gives us constant reminders of God’s sovereignty. To this day, God is still a rescuer, deliverer, and miracle worker, even when circumstances are difficult.

But stella! I'm nothing like Elijah and Daniel!

I don't go to church or even read the bible!

Well that's ok, all you need is a teensy weensy tiny itty bitty mustard seed of faith.

None of us are worthy of God's grace.

I myself have broken every commandment.

If you have even thought about breaking one, it's as good as done.

I have strayed from God, even getting involved with the occult at one point.

The disciples lived with Jesus. They SAW miracles with their own eyes. Even they questioned and had doubts.

God understands! Just hold on to that mustard seed. That's ALL you need!

And truly follow after the RIGHTEOUSNESS of Jesus Christ by keeping the Lord GOD's Ten Commandments, written by His Own Finger.

You can do it by trusting and following the LORD!

If you are practicing righteousness, truth, justice, and above all, charity, you are rare and VERY VALUABLE to God.

He will go out if His way to sustain you, that you might minister His grace, goodness and truth to others as well!

God bless you!

Silly, right? But the bible tells us so, over and over.

But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles

Isaiah 40:31

If you do not have God to get you through what is coming, you will be crushed by the lies and despair.

He not only supplies our physical needs, but gives us peace, strength and grace to get through each day.

My husband was telling me how the other day he felt so dark and heavy, pondering the state of things... it was overwhelming and he was at the end of his rope. He said "God, you promised if the burden became too heavy you would take it, so here it is. My husband said in that moment he felt absolute calm "wash over me in waves". He doesn't read anything let alone the bible. He drinks and cusses a blue streak. We don't go to church.

Doesn't matter to God. It is a direct relationship.

Dad is up there (and everywhere) waiting to hear from you, anytime you're ready.

God bless

Well said, i agree.

Ephesians 6:11-18

King James Version

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

The Cure for Anxiety

"Jesus"

Mat 6:25
Therefore I say unto you, Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than food, and the body then clothing?

Mat 6:26
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are ye not more valuable than they?

Mat 6:27
Which of you by worrying can add one cubit unto his height?

Mat 6:28
And why are you concerned for clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

Mat 6:29
And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.

Mat 6:30
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Mat 6:31
Therefore do not worry, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

Mat 6:32
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that ye have need of all these things.

Mat 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Mat 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow: for tomorrow shall worry about the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

After buying many supplies and prepping almost 20 years ago for an end of civilization that didn’t happen, this Bible verse came to mind as I was having to throw out rodent-damaged, outdated and never needed supplies.

Matthew 6:19-21
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Well, I'd say this paraphrased scripture invalidates everything you wrote:

"The Lord helps them who help themselves." In other words, if you sit back on your lazy ass and EXPECT God to come to your rescue... it ISN'T going to happen, even if you are otherwise devout! He may just decide to teach you a lesson for your slothfulness.

And this also applies to the poster above how tossed foodstuffs due to a Rat/Mouse infestation... since they have only themself to blame for that. Further, I too have prepped since Y2K and rarely have to toss anything because I rotate my pantry stock and actually EAT what's there before replacing it.

COMMON-SENSE dictates you solve one problem before compounding it into another one; but to chuck everything is as stupid as "throwing the baby out with the bathwater."

 Quoting: GSB/LTD

The bible says the Lord helps the helpless. "The Lord helps those who help themselves " is not in scripture. Your argument is invalid.

I ran across this today and thought it fit in here.

The Sin of Worry

“‘Do not be anxious for your life, as to what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor for your body, as to what you shall put on’” (Matthew 6:25).

To worry about the future is to sin against God.

Someone has said, “You can’t change the past, but you can ruin a perfectly good present by worrying about the future.” Worry does ruin the present, but even more important for the believer is to recognize that worry is sin. Let’s look at why that is so.

Worry means you are striking out at God. Someone might say, “Worry is a small, trivial sin.” But that’s not true. More important than what worry does to you is what it does to God. When you worry, you are saying in effect, “God, I just don’t think I can trust You.” Worry strikes a blow at God’s integrity and love for you.

Worry means you are disbelieving Scripture. You can say, “I believe in the inerrancy of Scripture. I believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of every word,” and then just live your life worrying. You are saying you believe the Bible, but then worry about God fulfilling what He says in it.

Worry means you are being mastered by circumstances. Let the truths of God’s Word, not your circumstances, control your thinking. By worrying, you make the circumstances and trials of life a bigger issue than your salvation. If you believe God can save you from eternal Hell, also believe He can help you in this world as He has promised.

Worry means you are distrusting God. If you worry, you’re not trusting your Heavenly Father. And if you’re not trusting Him, perhaps it’s because you don’t know Him well enough. Study God’s Word to find out who He really is and how He has been faithful to supply the needs of His people in the past. Doing so will help give you confidence for the future. Allow His Word to indwell you richly so that you aren’t making yourself vulnerable to Satan’s temptations to worry.

Suggestions for Prayer

Review the four points given above, and confess any sin to God.

god does not answer prayers ... he is not santa clause... he doesn't even hear your prayers, that's what Angels are for- and they don't answer them unless they are expressed in the form of a command in their language or by a collective that support a belief in god and their intervention serves to strengthen your trust in god (who serves himself)

you ignore the fact that Angels are spirit being that can not interact with the physical world other than within the realms of the Human Mind System - where it can inspire Humans to initiate some solution to your self-created drama - that has worked in the past with other god worshipers

you will give god all the glory for "saving you" but in truth only YOU can save your self.

however, if you have established a relationship with your higher self, it can arrange for an adjustment in your circumstances if it serves a higher purpose than what you originally planed to experience in this life-time ... that demands a change in your current circumstance.

God the provider..
In 1918-1920 the Russian country prayed and relied on God.
4million good God fearing people endured freezing and starving and while on their knees praying to God to save them.. they slowly and painfully starved to death.

Another 1.2 million red army soldiers died and 2.8 million revolutionaries.. probably a large number of Christians in their ranks too

Prayer is great...
But be very careful about the idea of God will provide all your needs

Very very careful....starvation is a horrible way to die
I know a thing or two, because I've seen a thing or two.

Years back I found myself in a physical altercation, not one started by me by the way.

I opened my mouth to utter some words, words that would've probably made things worse instead of better, some choice cuss words! Instead of the words I was prepared to speak, other words entirely came out of my mouth. I don't even remember the actual words since I was so shocked by it all. It was my voice! I did open my mouth to speak. But where did those words that came out of me come from?

Well, the fighting stopped after that! I did suffer physical injuries as a result of that fight. But now when I think back, had the words I wanted to say been said, I might not even be alive today.

So someone or something intervened that day. I believe it to be God.

.
What an ass clown.

The world is awash in literally billions upon billions of horrific examples of your god NOT providing and NOT coming through.

But let’s just ignore that inconvenient truth, shall we?

.
“Mental slavery is the worst form of slavery.
It gives you the illusion of freedom,
makes you trust, love, and defend your oppressor,
while making an enemy of those
who are trying to free you or open your eyes.”
-Fiyah

“None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.”
-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

“You have been programmed to resist the very person that is here to set you free, from the prison of your Mind... You are not free... everything you are has been manufactured by Minds that have not your best interest. You are imprisoned by beliefs and not reality. Religions are mental programs to imprison your Mind.”

OP, good post!

To add, we are all worthy of God's grace. The caring and benevolent God is pure unconditional love, and in unconditional love there will akways be unity, inclusion, and equality. Never division, exclusion, and hierarchy.

God knows we "dumb down" ourselves to have an amazing but extremely challenging adventure here of learning to grow up spiritually. Blessed with free will to explore and experience all as part of growing up, we will naturally make very poor choices at times because we don't know any better yet.

God will always lovingly nurture and subtely guide us back onto the path to love when we veered off it. Contrary to what many believe, the loving God doesn't suddenly become angry and vengeful towards those who disbelieve and disobey by judging and punishing them to suffer for eternity in some demonic place call Hell.

To believe otherwise is to believe God set us up to fail by blessing us with free will to freely choose, and then relish in punishing us for making poor choices.

God is not human and doesn't have immature human attributes like we do.

God waits with immense patience for each of us to grow up to greater wisdom and benevolent maturity.

And as we move further along the spiritual path, we will more understand the immensity of God's unconditional love. To experience a tiny bit of that beautiful comforting love will greatly humble us and bring us to tears of gratitude and joy.

Go further and with pure intent and sincerity open our hearts to receiving God's love and in turn give love to others and everything, then that will trigger a cascade of benevolent enhancements to our body and mind, fast tracking our spiritual growth to have more understanding of who we truly are and why we are here.

Suffice to say we will no longer see ourselves as lowly, unworthy, helpless, and hopeless sinners.

Love and honor God. Not fear and worship God.

Be in unity with God. Not be a servant to God.

Made in God's image, the image of unconditional love, compassion, benevolence, and joy.

The temple of God is within us, in every one of the many trillions of DNA in each of our magnificent bodies.

Our true nature is unconditional love, compassion, benevolence, and joy. Not the false nature that is the ego.

All the best!

I get it, but this is like saying if you believe in GOD as you jump off a cliff you will grow wings.

Use your brain, prepare, give glory to GOD every day you survive.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78198770

We will not grow wings, but will receive heightened divine intuition and synchroncity to avoid going near a cliff or to jump off the cliff.

Our brains doesn't do the thinking. They are simply like a computer processing unit that only carries out the instructions given.

Our intuition, gut feeling, and thinking come from elsewhere and other parts of our body, which is a mobile biological multi-dimensional energy receiver and transmitter.

There is much more in us and around us than what we could currently perceive at our state of consciousness. We are living in just a tiny fraction of the vast grand whole reality.

The key to perceiving more of that beautiful reality is love. Always has been.

No coincident that all wise benevolent messengers throughout the ages taught us a way of living life that aligns with having love for oneself, each other, and everything.
