There's a scene in the game Assassin's Creed: Origins, when you come upon an "ancient machine" that explains how Humanity dodged annihilation in 2012, thanks to Desmond's machine (CERN?), but that this was only temporary... because the temporal node is approaching... upon which all timelines converge (collapse).

Seemed a bit out of place (and hidden) for a game that takes place in ancient egypt

The universe is not collapsing, At least not from our point of view. It goes far beyond what we can see with visible or even infrared light but, rest assured, from what we can see, We will live life just fine, and everything will be Ok.

This would not be possible, Immediately, Such an effect would have to accumulate over time; and would be detectable, as it would require ALOT of force.
Its really not possible except during conditions of the supposed big bang, the earliest known epoch of the cosmos.

It is. I prefer the original version of the film since it had the church classic featured at the most important point vs being relegated to FM radio in the directors cut.

How does Shiva destroy and recreate the universe?
