The Gospel - Basic Teachings of Jesus (amd Paul) for Salvation - KJV Bible Study
The basic teachings of Jesus amd Paul from the Bible for Salvation

1. Repent

Matthew 4:17 (KJV) From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Mark 1:15 And saying*, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe* the gospel.

Paul - Repentence? Check

Acts 26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

2. Believe

John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Paul - Belief that Jesus is the Son of God? Check

Romans 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

1 Corinthians 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

3. Obey / Keep the Commandments

Matthew 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Paul - Commandments? Check

1 Thessalonians 4:2 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 4:9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

4. Do the Father's Will

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Paul - Doing the Father's Will? Check

Ephesians 6:6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

5. Forgive others so the Father will forgive you.

Matthew 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Paul - Forgiveness

2 Corinthians 2:7 So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.

6. Be "born again".

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Paul doesn't use the exact phrase- but he clearly understands what happens.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

AND Paul baptized people...

Acts 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Peter.

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

3 statements that Jesus made will help folks understand the "mission" that the Father has given to Him.

1. "I am the way" - John 14:6

2. "Follow me" - Matthew 4:19 and 16 other verses

3. "No one comes to the Father but through me" - John 14:6

The "destination" is Salvation - eternal life - in the Kingdom of God.

His God - Our God. John 20:17

The Father's Kingdom as the Lord's Prayer states.

Jesus tells us - shows us - helps us - how to get there.

The Father is sovereign over all.

From "The Lord's Prayer"...

- The Father's Forgiveness
- The Father's Will
- The Father's Kingdom
- The Father's Power
- The Father's Glory

KJV James 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

Works don't give us Salvation.

They give us "treasures in Heaven".

They are part of "doing the Father's Will".

Have you ever read all the verses that mention "works" in the KJV New Testamemt?

The word "works" occurs 118 times in 108 verses in the New Testament in the KJV.

More to it than just "teachings"

To imply that there is means for intellectually "understanding" The Scripture and Gospel, is to deny that Heart is at center of God's Plan. Your heart.

It comes down to Loving God and Trusting HIM with all you are and ever will be, then Giving your self and will Unto The Father by pledging-surrendering your life to HIS Guidance and Service Unto HIS Will.

What actually is Salvation?

I was Given To Know by God The Holy Spirit that "Anyone who ever Loved Christ Jesus with a True heart, even if only as a child, will not be lost or condemned". There's that heart-thing again...

Can you Trust God with all you are and all you ever will be? Then, you Tell HIM So... Take Action... This is the "work" that Faith Without Works Is Dead refers to.

Jesus Gave HIS Life To Enable You To Come Unto The Father and thereby Be Born-Again. Yet, only You can decide to Take Action and Come Unto The Father.

No reference to Matt 22:1-14???? That parable, which begins with "The Kingdom of Heaven is like unto a Certain King WHO Made A Wedding Feast For HIS Son", is Jesus' Witness of God's Plan.

Lots of Witness from Jesus as to just who Father Has Called to be Born-Again and Abide With HIM... In Matt 22:1-14, the parable is all about those The King Invited To Attend HIS Wedding Feast... None of the originally invited guests chose to attend... Other guests were found by The King's servants. Then, The King sees a wedding crasher who had no Wedding Garment (Born-Again Heart). The interloper is thrown into the Outer Darkness by The King's servants...

Jesus ends the parable with this "For many were Called, but few are Chosen!"

Consider that everyone "invited" was "chosen" by The King... In Matt 16:13-20, Jesus Says that KNOWING WHO HE IS, is something Only HIS Father Can Put Upon our heart; and it is this KNOWLEDGE that is "The Rock, Upon Which I Build MY Church!".

So...Many were Called, but few Chose-Elected to Answer The Father's Call and make their surrender thereby becoming Born-Again.

Even more plainly, in John 3:7, Jesus Says: "Marvel not that I Say unto you, Ye MUST Be Born-Again!"

Father's Prophet Witnesses in Ezekiel 36:26-27 just what The Born-Again Life Is. The pharisee, Nicodemus, should have Known that Scripture, but Jesus Says: "Art thou a master of israel and yet knowest not of these things? We Tell You what WE Have Seen and Know, and still you deny OUR Witness! How can I tell you Heavenly things when you deny earthly things?"

Nic never had enough heart to be sure WHO Jesus Was...

These ARE The Final Moments. If you Love & Trust God with all you are: NOW IS THE TIME TO TELL HIM!

 Quoting: Lester

I'm guessing that you misseed
the word "basic" in the topic title.

If a non-believer was seeking God by reading scripture, would God "block the basic understanding" of scripture and the Gospel to that seeking person?

I don't think so.

Salvation is being saved from the "Second Death" - the destruction of your soul - for not Repenting & Believeing. It's entrance into "the Kingdom" after your human physical death.

Did the thief on the cross love God?
Did he do the Father's Will during his life?
Was he Baptised?
Nope.
He merely acknowledged his sins and recognized Jesus as "Lord".

Some choose. Others are "Chosen". Proof?

Father God chose the Apostles for Jesus.

The 3000 who were converted after Peter's speech in Acts?

They made the their own choice.

Paul was the original disinformation agent. To this day shills follow his lead - mix a little deception in with the truth and let the corrosion set in over time.

But he had the spririt of a man who loved murder, and the fact that he wouldn't follow the true disciples of Christ should tell you everything you need to know about him.

You can be a Christian or you can be a Paulian, but you cannot be both.

Choose wisely.

Really? Says who?

Your opinion - conclusion based on ASSumptions. Nothing more.

Ancient artifacts like the Sumerian tablets / Egyptian papyrus do NOT prove that the "original" story, as the Bible tells us, is a copy of something else.

They merely record what that specific society believed at that moment in history.

Similarity does NOT PROVE direct association nor origination.

Historical existence does not prove "origin of story".

"Concensus of scholars" isn't "proof of fact".

Absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence.

Apparent lack of evidence doesn't prove non-existence.

Paul makes it clear WHO we are in Christ. We are God's spiritual Israel and for that reason alone.. there s no need for the rapture. This is why those people hate Paul... He takes away their reason for a rapture. We do not replace Israel in any way...only are joined to them.

You must be born again spiritually to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. And then you will be grafted onto/into the Tree of Israel Where the non-believing branches are broken off and cast aside.

These were just copy cat stories created by the being that hates us. He has some knowledge but no understanding. This is done to try to invalidate the True story of the Christ.

It takes discernment from God to understand and this is something Lucy does not have. Only sees the shadow of things.

Just more deceptions in his/her bag of tricks.

His will is for us to keep his commandments as in reverence them but he knows that we can’t obey them. If we could do that there would be no need for Jesus to come and pay for our sins.

there is only one "law" / teaching that Jesus reminded us of ... he didn't create it, it has existed as long as Humanity has existed

do unto others as you would have them do unto you

this "way of life" satisfies ALL LAWS and is the only requirement for us to fulfill the purpose of our creation

obviously, the entity who proclaimed himself "god" (of this world) DOES NOT choose to support this Supreme Law of the Universe ... so why do you support him?

to do with Salvation as given by
Father God through Jesus.

Cool pic, but the one about mansions is wrong.

Jesus literally reiterated "if it were not so, I would have told you".

The point of the reiteration was to make sure we took it as literal. There are no homeless in heaven.

But again sadly , this is where that false doctrine of the millennial reign on earth rears its ugly head.

Hmmm!

Obey the commands of Jesus...

Paul had acknowledged that Jesus was Lord.

Paul had prayed for three days.

Was he saved?

NO !

Why?

He had not obeyed a command of Jesus.

16 And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.’

You are not "saved" until your sins have been taken
