COVID and The Vaccines

Supposedly if you have caught COVID and survive it and then you get vaccinated afterward, you're supposed to have the best protection against catching COVID in the future. I'm not sure I would deliberately want to catch COVID, recover from it and then get vaccinated. But if that happens to be you it's supposed to put you in the best position against catching it again in the future.

I think that as COVID continues to exist and mutate, it will continually infect and reinfect it's host until it claims their life. This would go against catching it and recovering from it each time making you stronger against future COVID contagions.

But I think from a logical perspective the reason something keeps coming back like cancer for example, is because it's not finished doing it's duty. I know cancer and COVID are two completely different ailments, but I believe their goals or missions are the same.
