Quoting: bigkahuna62 Wife keeps talking about it. They were talking about it in Australia, but haven't heard anything for the states. . Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80237768 $1500 sign on bonus @ most Fort. 500 Co's A lot of companies offer a sign on bonus regularly. It us generally followed by a lot of fine print and broken promises. This is normal practice. There is not enough freight to justify all the trucks. If you have doubt, find your local large truckstop and count the parked trucks at 9 am and again at 3 pm. Then compare to the number of parking spaces. Many truck stops are 1/3 full or more all day. This is not an indication of shortages of drivers. This shows shortages of freight. I didn't realize they were until I was told. It's not like a big collection of guys decided together, it's more along the lines of they want to see what happens in Australia 1st. |

Longhaul, short haul, delivery whatever. Most of us will turn in our keys if told to vax. We are not bluffing. This is one of the major sticking points for tge Australian drivers, they are being told that to go certain places they must be jabbed. They are saying go duck yourself. I support that. |

You may not think it but it us here. I know a company that had a truck sidelined because during the service the techs pulled the air filter and there were none to replace it. Not in tge warehouse, not in the dealership. They had to courier one from out of province. So that truck was out of service for 4 days because of a standard part? What runs out next. Another group I know has 3 different trailers currently out of service because they do not have the brake chambers instock anywhere for those particular models. This has been 2 weeks with no timeline for parts availability. I personally have been waiting for 3 weeks for a class 3 hitch that was paid for already. |

If they mandate a vax for interstate travel that could stop a good number of truckers for a while. However, they are people too and need to eat and pay their bills. Smoke me a kipper, I’ll be back for breakfast. Quoting: A Jackson If all the unvaxxed truckers shut down, I guarantee that before any of their personal bills are 30 days past due and into collections, every single person will be in a lot worse shape. The threat of having your car repossessed will be the last thing on your mind. Your grocery store will run out of the basics in a day. The rest of the store in 3. The gas stations will run out by the afternoon of the day the truckers stop rolling. I already know of groups refusing to haul loads to stores that mandate vaccines. Yes there is trucker groups doing this. They say if "i cannot shop there, then I will not deliver there. I will not darken your door with my non vaccinated a$$." Some of us have seen this coming. I paid off my credit cards. Bought a used car instead of payments on new this year. Upgraded my electronics and paid my property taxes. Many of us have our bills paid a couple months in advance too. We knew it was coming. Just not sure when exactly. On that day, green karma, virtue signaling, proper gender pronouns will all be irrelevant. You see, the thing is everyone thinks that their lives are special and important. WE DO TOO. We do not want the vax, and just like the starving person will sell their jewelry, their home, their body in a financial death spiral to stay alive, when you view the vax as a death shot, losing your job does not mean as much. As a trucker we just happen to have one of the few jobs that mean it all comes down with us. The store clerks who fill the shelves and ring up our purchases are important too. And the gas station attendants. You can bump along without doctors for months even in a pandemic, you can last years without teachers. None of us will last days if the fuel stops. I fuel basically every day. |

All the banks have a deadline of Nov 1st to complete their disaster recovery test stay be compliant with the feddies, since the last day of the fiscal year is Oct 31st. They are also mandating the jab by that date it's no coincidence. One cable cut to a circuit or one miscabling on a main switch can cause everything to go offline nationwide. Then good luck finding a functioning ATM. We have two months left max. Things will get very interesting between now and then. Hang in there and do what you think is right! |

I got a letter from my bank stating that they are updating accounts. The biggest update to better serve us is that we will now be able to make payments directly to the cra through our account. It's funny cause I cause do that before with a cheque, or payroll taxs every 2 weeks before. Nothing bad can happen with the cra having access to my money right? |
