The latest is that the viral vector ones do change DNA because of their DNA vector to burst spike proteins out of cells, however, the NIH documentation I read claims that it only does this in the cells it hits with the virus initially and has been engineered not to replicate.

Whatever the mRNA is doing, it does appear to replicate in cells, nearly anywhere in the body, for an indeterminate amount of time; thus the serious need for long term studies, which they are ironically avoiding like the plague. It will NOT get you out of a paternity test, but it WILL cause unnatural cell processes over an unknown amount of time.
