It’s one of the digital ham radio modes that some joker is using on CB. If you have a shortwave receiver, tune around near 14.100MHz-14.150MHz and you’ll hear similar sounds.

Digital radioteletype - type what you want to say in a computer, it sends it to the radio, out over the air making that funny noise to the other person’s receiver, to his computer.

Like a really slow internet chat room.

FYI - Any transmission above 10Mhz suppose to be in USB mode but this is CB.

In full carrier AM signals, at the mediumwave broadcast frequencies, I have analyzed the sidebands with many different radios and always find the subtractive (lower) sideband is always cleaner and sweeter.
That's "real" RF, not this modern pulse-width-modulation mess.
I'm presuming there's somehow more distortion harmonics of odd order in the additive byproduct.

The first audio in the click first sounded just like any carrier heard with a BFO running, but there mighta been some data modulation.

Listened to on the opposite sideband, there might be a lot more audio "shift" apparent between "mark" and "space".
