And as the first major US city to completely showcase what no modern human eyes have yet to see... a once illuminated, highly white minority, dense population center that is rife with vice crime make the overnight switch(-off) into total, long, long term adoption of the Dark Sky Initiative... Yeah, last time we got the Katrina-Kunt’s. Now we get the Ida-hos and the Ida-pimps. ………… For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.….. |

That’s not what it means. Only in your role playing doom glitter mind hero. The situation is not good but power can be restored to many areas in a short while. Other areas could suffer more but that’s not gonna make your doom glitter party come true. All major electric transmission lines have been destroyed. Quoting: Coppercoal All the big towers that deliver power to the city have been knocked over. They're gone... You have over 1.2 million people grouped together in a low lying swamp surrounded by limited transport access. You can't pump gas because there is no electricity... The water is in a similar situation... with major power down, it's only a matter of time before backup generators (if they're still functioning) will run out of fuel. You can't charge your cell phones because most people don't have ways to charge up without a connection to a power line or running car. How long can we expect your average city dweller to survive without their digital distractions, a warm meal, and clean water? No lights. No 911 services. And it will take the city a week... 1 week... just to assess the damage and repair plans for the big power transmission lines... before any recommended repairs are sent for... Then there is the task to bring in the materials, machinery, and labor to build new giant power transmission towers. How much longer will that take? And that doesn't even include the surface street power line repairs that will be needed to bring power to each city block and home. Do you know what this means? ----- For those asking for a link: Hurricane Ida knocks out all transmission lines into New Orleans, leaves 1M+ without power Source: [link to www.utilitydive.com (secure)] Absolutely. Leave town. |

Allow me to predict: Quoting: Bodiless In two days when the looting gets really bad, John Bell Edwards will call in the National Guard I’m just waiting to see if they go house to house gun grabbing Per the mayor's press conference today, the national guard is already there, and someone (national guard/police/etc.) is already going door to door "checking" on people. The gun grab and forced vaccines will likely come later or could be happening now. We have no way to know for sure since most forms of communication are down. I would not want to be trapped in New Orleans right now. Me either have a ton of kin down there I hope they are safe and can leave if they want. It does sound like people are able to get in and out right now. I keep seeing mentions of checkpoints that are going to be set up, but that doesn't seem to have happened everywhere yet. I would guess the window of opportunity is closing. |

Louisiana is the single poorest state in the country. It would be healthy for many small towns just north of Nola to have new people move there. That goes for all of the lower southern states. Most of it is wilderness. except it wont happen and they will rebuild yet again. Last Edited by Feathery on 08/30/2021 05:30 PM Tomfoolery |
