Please pray for our sweet puppy Maple UPDATE: Maple found her way home.

My brother lost his dog in the road in New York state just a few days ago.

I wonder if its worth the heart ache.
I really am not sure sometimes.

I’m so sorry. The woods can sometimes be dangerous for cats and dogs. Dogs are truly the best companions and it’s heartbreaking when you lose your best friend.

Oh, I am so sorry. Your doggie's name, Maple, really caught my attention. I named my now 1-yr. old kitty Maple when he was just a little bitty thing born under our front porch by a feral Momma. He is maple-colored, I live on Maple Shade Road. I grew up on Maple Avenue.

Another one of my kitties never returned last October when husband and I were away. We had a cat-sitter staying at the house to watch our 2 kitties. 1 of our 2 kitties was also feral and enjoyed going outside. The 2nd night we were away, our cat sitter said he did not return home after she let him out. 1 more day went by, and he still did not come home. We cut our 10-day trip short and came home. I called and called him for days and weeks but haven't seen him since.

I will pray with every intention that you will see your little Maple again and that she will soon be home.

Father, thank you for providing for us, for your mercy, thank you for loving us, and for blessing us. You are the most wonderful Father, and you not only provide for our needs, but you want to bless us in abundance! Father, bring Maple home. We claim restoration for this family in Jesus' name! You gave your children dominion over the earth, and we claim that authority today to reunite this puppy and her family. You gave to some of your children a heart for animals, myself included. I've seen you perform miracles to save an animal that you placed in my heart when I called out to you, and we claim that victory over the loss of Maple. Guide her home. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Hoping for the best for your puppy. Labs are such good smart dog breeds. Since the other dogs came back without any wounds I'm wondering if she's just in heat and ran off chasing. I believe labs go into heat as early as 9 months old or so.

They were marking gas lines two weeks ago.. some asshole opened the gate and let our dogs out. He knocked on our door to tell us….

We looked for hours. Neighbors looked. Strangers looked.

Drove by the house repeatedly…. Nothing. Then we gave up and drove home to stay and they were waiting at the door.

I hope you find Maple at your door.

Praying for you. My current pup now 12 ran away when I first got him. Was gone a week. Turns out he went like a crow flys to a house with 8 dogs... He was about 2.5 miles away. Got him back after they finally called the SPCA... a week later he ran back. Called the people and he had gone straight there... lucky he avoided cars. After that he accepted his position in the family and loved my older girl till she passed. Now he's the lone pup and spoiled for life. He's my best buddy. God bless and please let her come home !

I agree. I raised dogs in the country and they know where she is. Walk with them and call for the other dog in the dark you may hear her. She could be hung up in a fence or caught in mud. Check local water areas and fence lines first. Listen for her periodically. Good luck! Prayers up for Maple and family.

Also I'd like to say my dog has a terrible way of hiding in plain sight. He can be gone and be 100 ft away...

When it gets hot dogs look for shelter, a cool place. Look for her at night to show up.

This sounds right, she's out there somewhere. And the other dogs know where.

I agree with taking the dogs out to find her tomorrow. My first thought on reading this was that she might have fallen down an old well. Just something to keep in mind when looking, especially if you know of any old homesteads in your area.

Someone here mentioned a long time ago hanging out one of your dirty shirts so she can pick up the scent and follow it home.

Praying you find your baby Maple safe. It's horrible not knowing. I've had two dogs vanish to never be found. The not knowing is hell. Forty years later, they still haunt me sometimes in bad moments.
