I didn't notice any side effects whatsoever except being really happy and full of energy. Haven't tried any since, just wanted to see how my body would react or if it upset my stomach. If I'm honest why I haven't tried it again, is because it tastes like shit, it's horrible.

I recently bought Bimectin (ivermectin paste 1.87%). I believe this is one of the ones without any other active ingredients.


My questions is what is “anthelmintic”? On the front part of the box at the bottom left it says:

“Anthelmintic and Boticide”

Hoping anthelmintic is okay to take. Not sure what it is yet.

Boticide: Kills worms. Anthelmintic: kills other parasites. Looks like ivermectin can do both. There are other posts on on Godlike Productions that talk about ivermectin, dosage.

Look carefully at the box. If in the US or Canada, probably even the tube itself highlights the active ingredient and its strength. Sometimes, it's just ivermectin. Sometimes it doesn't have any ivermectin at all. Sometimes, yes, it is ivermectin with something else, but in that case, you'll probably see something like this: "ivermectin 1.87%, praziquantel 14.03%."

I guess praziquantel, if you're wondering, is also used in humans, but I have no expertise in its safety profile. Personally, I'd look for a tube with just ivermectin as the active ingredient for "the horse."

Maybe not a bad idea to look at the box or for a paper insert with the full list of all the ingredients. If you see anything unfamiliar, it's smart to read up first. A site like Mayo Clinic can help you get started.

Of course I never give medical advice for people or animals, but if there's ever a case when I'm at all worried about giving "my horse" something new, I like to start with a fraction of a dose as a test and give it a while to see how my horse responds (and noting the time and amount to ensure the first full dose isn't too much too soon.) That's not perfect, but it gives me some peace of mind about potentially obvious and immediate reactions specific to my horse's body.

Lol I’m about to take my first dose today. I’m not sick with covid or anything for that matter. But I am curious if I have any parasites.

I’ll update later and let people know if I feel a difference after 2 days or so.

Something neat about ivermectin is it’s natural! It is only found in the soil in Japan. I bet it is man made now but the prob copy the makeup of the natural form.

How bout the paste with ivermectin and Preaziquantel? Safe for human consumtion?

Apparently we are all ridden with parasites and so on. Taking Ivermectin can have some unforeseen negative effects due to the shedding of these. There can be a sort of avalanche biological effect. I kid you not.

Somebody posted on this some time ago. Best bet is to minimise you dose and tread carefully until things settle down.

The science behind this shedding of parasites and the sudden effects was compelling reading.
