I imagine there are individuals with communicable illnesses who intentionally attempt to spread them to others covertly. This probably happens more often than we think.

This is done with HIV. There's even niche subcultures for this purpose, for both sending and willingly receiving, but I don't recall the terminology offhand.

Out in the West, it was noted there was a spike of COVID during the wildfires - which covered much of the area with thick particulates.

If this agent was sprayed on the ground, it would stand to reason it is being made airborne by the wildfires.

Sure, or maybe all the folk evacuated to a shelter in a gym or some such usual disaster shelter, all in close quarters, on evacuation buses and what not, and all it would take is one of the firefighters, whom is coming from out of town to help out, being sick.
