ALERT: Patients overdosing on ivermectin are backing up rural Oklahoma hospitals and ambulances are stuck waiting for beds
A rural Oklahoma doctor said patients who are taking the horse de-wormer medication, ivermectin, to fight COVID-19 are causing emergency room and ambulance back ups.

“There’s a reason you have to have a doctor to get a prescription for this stuff, because it can be dangerous,” said Dr. Jason McElyea.

Dr. McElyea said patients are packing his eastern and southeastern Oklahoma hospitals after taking ivermectin doses meant for a full-sized horse, because they believed false claims the horse de-wormer could fight COVID-19.

“The ERs are so backed up that gunshot victims were having hard times getting to facilities where they can get definitive care and be treated,” he said.

That’s something McElyea said is now backing up ambulance systems as well.

“All of their ambulances are stuck at the hospital waiting for a bed to open so they can take the patient in and they don’t have any, that’s it,” said Dr. McElyea. “If there’s no ambulance to take the call, there’s no ambulance to come to the call.”

“Growing up in a small town, rural area, we’ve all accidentally been exposed to ivermectin at some time. So, it’s something people are familiar with. Because of those accidental sticks, when trying to inoculate cattle, they’re less afraid of it,” he said.

Now, the rural patients are going into their local agricultural or tractor supply store, ignoring the warning signs surrounding the products, and figuring out a dosage themselves.

“Some people taking inappropriate doses have actually put themselves in worse conditions than if they’d caught COVID,” said the doctor.

“You have to ask yourself, ‘If I take this medicine, what am I going to do if something bad happens?’ What’s your next step, what’s your backup plan?” the doctor said. “If you’re going to take a medicine that could affect your health, do it with a doctor on board. Make those decisions with a thoroughly vetted opinion. There’s a lot of schooling that goes into that. It’s not just something you look on the internet for and decide if it’s the right dose.”

So you are saying there is no Dr. McElyea, the whole story is made up and nobody is ODing on horse paste?

I don't get it. Why would anyone do that in rural Oklahoma, plus keep the whole conspiracy secret? And how?

That part above that is bolded.

I grew up on a farm and was never accidentally exposed to Ivermectin. You'd have to be an absolute moron to accidentally stick or prick yourself with any animal medicine. Never happened to me or anyone I know, even once.

Simple solution is to send the people that overdose to the veterinarian. If he can treat a horse he can treat the sheep that take ivermectin.

Problem solved!

I'm looking at reviews for this physician

Feb, 2021
Quite direct, efficient, and kind. I was slightly put off by his tics, but the nurse said he had Tourette's

Feb, 2021
Probably the most skilled doctor I have ever met. He effortlessly saved my daughter's arm after a tragic accident. Ask him about his Tourette's. He is hilarious.

May, 2020
I had an unpleasant and insensitive visit with this doctor. I have no idea why he would be so curt and unresponsive. I came in early in the morning because I had been up most of the night with viral symptoms. I thought my throat was closing. He told me “yes, you probably have covid”, but did not test me. The next day I went to my doctor and he tested me and I’m awaiting results. Whatever your hospital policy is, it should be explained to the patient in a relatively professional manner.

June, 2019
I had to go emergency room for complications from gall bkadder surgery and he was on call. He did nothing to help me at all. He's a smartmouth and i wouldn't recommend this lowlife freak to help anyone! I wound up having to go to the hospital in Joplin Mo.If you go to this doctor , you're nuts!

June, 2018
Absolutely horrible experience with this obviously egomaniacal, borderline criminally negligent so called doctor. Tried to give an end stage liver patient 3000 mg of Tylenol because of the opioid crisis. Had to take his orders to a pharmacist to get a statement to prove to the facility what had happened. Bedside manner was very dismissive and accusatory. Overall he was awful.

Dec., 2017
Unfortunately, I have never seen such poor bedside manner for a 91 year old who survived a massive PE. I crinched to discover that he oversees family medicine residents as those learning from him in the room were also shocked by his demeanor. Emergency Departments not staffed and managed by boarded Emergency Medical Doctors are always a concern for those who truly have emergent needs.

How can you say it is a "bullshit lie"?

Who is running the top secret "bullshit lie" conspiracy that is generating these reports?

Kinda funny watching the excuses here. People overdose and go to the hospital on all sorts of drugs. Right now, a lot of people have started self-medicating with horse paste and even injecting veterinary solutions for which they have no idea regarding dosage or even what is in those solutions.

Why would people not overdose on Ivermectin, like they have done every day on other drugs?

The tip off that its BS is they will not describe it as being used as a anti viral. Just “horse dewormer”.

They will absolutely not mention it. Or the facts.

Ill need proof on this. Not buying it just cause they say so.

So what do you have to demonstrate that all of these Ivermectin overdoes are not really happening? Just a BS flag?

It's not about whether or not it is effective in treating or preventing COVID. It's about people self-medicating with no knowledge of dosing. Some are even injecting veterinary medicine into their arms at home.

It looks to me like the denials "BS flag" posts here somehow think that Ivermectin is magic and not like other drugs and it is impossible to overdose or get adverse side effects to it.

Think about it, people. Use your common sense

Looks like Australia is on on the massive secret conspiracy to create false reports about people overdosing on Ivermectin.
