Hey Gintel, nice reference, but the whole point of what's wrong with the entire global economy is 'legalized slavery'.
With borders shut down, most people are stuck. Trust me on that point. Most economies run on illegal immigrant labor, not just the USA.
Quoting: Glaxnor I agree, I think lockdowns caused people globally to reevaluate if being a slave was worth it.
I am a big believer in the idea that people will work at a fair price and the price has to go up.
Quoting: Uncle Gintel Down...
Not Up.
Building it up is what's causing this problem as it is...
100 USD is enough to support a family, comfortably...
Why would talent focus on building up their own countries when they can go work in the US?
China is, right now, dealing with this issue in scale. They are trying to limit the 'salary' of a teacher to something that works locally. But the problem is that almost all the real talent in China has moved on.
#1 Destination: USA
#2/3 Destination: Beijing/Shanghai
All the talent is being drawn to the centers of financial power, sapping all of the external regions. The city I am in got $10 Billion Yuan to -censored-, and the dumb locals stole the freaking money.
No joke.
It was literally an investment in making their home better. A long term improvement that would benefit everyone. But they stole it. Literally their communities lifeblood.
It was that moment that I choose to leave, oh and they were freaking bragging about how much they stole...ON WECHAT....
Morans.
----
Everyone on this site knows that giving 'pallets of money' to Afghanistan or ANYWHERE wont help, because the money will be stolen by small, petty, greedy morans who can't see the long term benefits of building a better community.
TLDR: Fixing the world is complicated.
