Ok Tangy, very useful answer, but this guy is working in the 0,1x scale, and the videos from Spain show the needle at Max reading in the 1x scale and at 8 Roentgen/ hour at the x10 scale. This guy I struggling to make it move at the 0.1x scale. So this proves the meters in Spain are detecting huge levels. Bear in mind the CDV-715 is for Gamma rays, not alpha or beta particles that are blocked by the metal casing of the ionization chamber of the meter.
Also, people, this apparatus is a Geiger METER, not a Geiger counter, the apparatuses that measure in counts per minute, their entire range would fit in the first line of the scale of these CDV-715.
Now, for those that say that these are too old and that there are newer ones, this is often said but the digital ones, as someone has already commented here, are said to be software capped to keep the readings below a threshold.
This is why the last video on the opening post, which shows an UltraViolet radiation detector measuring a level 6 (of a
Scale of 1 to 11) UV radiation danger INSIDE a BASEMENT, it’s quite interesting, to say the least.
