Any GLPers own or have access to CDV-715 Geiger Meter? People in Spain are measuring high levels of ionizing radiation with this apparatus.

Yes, I have five of them. It was suppose to be a group buy but a few decided they did not need them so ... hubby and I kept the extras for our family instead.
The major problem with these really old ones is they need a sample to calibrate the machines, and you usually can NOT even get anything radioactive to test them with.
Just get any smoke detector which has Americium as you can test, calibrate your Geiger counter;
Quoting: grannyB Sorry but your recommendation shows you have little idea of what we are talking about. Americium from a smoke detector contain 1 micro Curie of material, and it emits at most 50 nanoSieverts of gamma radiation per year, for calibration of a CDV-715 it’s recommended to use 1 Curie of 60 Cobalt, that produces 4 Roentgen/hour (or 40 miliSieverts/hour) at 12 inches. Americium from a smoke detector wouldn’t even be picked up by the most sensitive range of a CDV-715.
