Any GLPers own or have access to CDV-715 Geiger Meter? People in Spain are measuring high levels of ionizing radiation with this apparatus.

There are several cheap ($100) geiger counters that are the size of a small cell phone, are able to give readings in CPM, uSv/hr, or mR/hr and keep records of readings at any time. Those old Civil Defense bulky yellow monsters that work on one D cell battery won't register any Beta at all, just gamma and x-ray.
Most of those CD 715 measure only in r/hr---takes a very high level of radiation to move the dial much.

I am not an expert in radiological survey but I know very well the difference between a Geiger counter and the CDV-715 models, and other models that I have seen showing high readings in the Roentgen/hour range. This is precisely what is intriguing, that there are people in Spain, and now we have one of our own GLP family, that are using these gamma ray detectors, and finding readings of above 0,5 and up to 8 Roentgen/hour, without any discernible source of radiation. If this were one odd guy with and old and battered meter, one could shrug it off, but now there are at least 6 of these old CDV-715 and other models giving high readings, at least that I know of. This is extremely intriguing, to say the least. Then getting a new one that you know works and see what it reads when the old ones go on the high-end-blitz seems like the way to go. Most hospitals have radiation detection equipment that would sound an alarm if anything causing such a high reading were even in the parking lot---or coming from the sky. Equipment failure or intentional tik-tok pranks are still the most likely causes, IMO. I had written a comment but there's a certain app that GLP doesn't let mention in any form, but I was saying that I wish this were just a tik tok trend, probably you won't find anything of this there, and there's an entire group of Spaniards recording and sharing their findings in that unmentionable app, to which I unsubscribed because the phone memory fills in a couple of days. Now, about official sources and public monitoring systems, you are aware that we GLPers distrust all official information sources that say everything is Ok when unofficial sources suggest is not, and vice versa. M'kay?
