Been there.

I did it chronologically. Movies and shows minus most the Original Series episodes.

Although Discovery messed everything up chronologically, I'm caught up with all of the series including Lower Decks which, imho, is finally starting to get good.

Can't wait for Strange New Worlds.

Lower decks looks like absolute trash. I don't think I could make myself watch that. I hated Voyager too

When I was a child , and saw this in the theaters, I had not yet read Moby Dick, so I hadn't made the connection between " that book" being on Khan's bookshelf, and this, his final exchange with Kirk.

I loved these shows and as an adult, it breaks my heart that humanity has not moved in this direction.

including Lower Decks which, imho, is finally starting to get good.

jesus h christ, you have to be joking.
everything after enterprise has really stunk embarrassingly - and enterprise wasnt that great overall, neither was voyager - hit and miss.
lower decks, picard/pitard, discovery/s.t.d. are a completely offensive to start trek fans it is so bad that gene roddenberry would defecate on this stuff cleveland steamer style. its complete and total crap. it has nothing to do with the spirit, themes and vision of star trek.
j.j./bad reboot and michael chabon, akiva goldsman, mike mcmahan and alex kurtzman are low life disgusting disgraceful vandals of modern mythology and patrick stuart is an excellent actor but in all other areas of life he is a brain stem and an utter moron and an embarrassing disgrace.
lower decks is garbage and nobody should be putting that stuff in their head.

And don't forget those mantids called species 8742 that could take out the Borg. They are both commies.

I think the whole show is based on space marxism. Replicators make all your food so you don't have to work and the computer provides everything for you. Flying around breaking the prime directive all the time and starting space wars everywhere.
 Quoting: MaxDoomer

Yes its space Marxism - where machine can do all labor. When you have unlimited real-estate , unlimited power and the ability to create any desired material object within seconds with virtually no human effort, you can have Marxism . And not one second before.

Don't forget Star Trek Continues. It covers all the missions from the end of TOS through the first movie.

I second this. Far better than any of the current stuff, even with some painful amateur performances -especially early on. But if you like TOS. WATCH THIS. .

I've been cycling :

TOS
TNG
Voyager
Enterprise
DS9
+
SG-1
Atlantis
+
Battlestar Galactica

Even after going around all of them a couple times, it's still better than most stuff coming out in recent years

Edit : ohh and the old and recent ST movies too (can't stand Discovery though)
 Quoting: We Are Slaves

LOL- stop stealing my list. However, why not consider adding

Star Trek Continues
Space 1999
UFO
Twilight Zone
Buck Rogers
Logan's Run

Or if you want to really go back and can stand the cheese watch Space Academy or Jason of Star Command or Ark II :)

TNG is always my go-to when I am feeling down. It is my comfort show. Reminds me of the late 80's / 90's. When there was far less bullshit and way more optimism. My sister and I would watch this together every night it was on. I miss those days. Glad that it streams on netflix and prime.

I tried watching lower decks, made it 3 minutes. Voyager is a 2 beer show, not horrible but not one you would want to marry.

Re: Anyone else revisiting Star Trek?
Favorite episode was Q and the Borg.
We are living through a version of it.
 Quoting: Deplorableduckhunter

I liked TNG alot. I love how awkward Picard is in doing anything else beside being captain. My fav episode was the one where he lived a whole nother life in 20min, then he got that cool flute. Was almost in tears!

 Quoting: Overdue

I love how the "Picard" opening theme has elements of the song the son plays from "The Inner Light". Really beautiful.

 Quoting: EarthNotAPlanet

I actually had not noticed that. You must have good musical ears and or memory because usually I'm pretty quick on that and didn't notice it.

Of course its been a while since I saw that episode and can no longer remember the flute melody.

I am rewatching TNG and DS9 every few years. I'll admit: not absolutely all episodes, skipping the occasional thrash.
I can't watch any of the new Trek series - Discovery, Picard, all woke thrash. Not Star Trek.

It was such an upbeat, positive view of the future... Now it is therapeutic nostalgia for generations of disillusioned optimists.

Re: Anyone else revisiting Star Trek?
It's interesting watching Discovery, Star Trek was always a progressive show when it came to inclusivity, but Discovery takes it to the over-the-top liberal mindset of the modern era, fully embracing homosexuality and making most of the hero leads black, female, asian, etc. Something about it feels a little insincere. There's like an anger underneath it all... hard to explain.
