Anyone who tries to take your rights away thinks so little of you that they don't consider you a person. They think you are too stupid to feed yourself and too weak to protect yourself.

I typically don't watch a lot of the videos that get posted here, but felt like I should watch this. I love this. This is how people should live their life. Unfortunately there are laws that prevent bad things being done to bad people, because another unfortunate truth is that there is always an asshole that think this shit doesn't apply to them. If the people of this planet rose up and said enough is enough, fuck you I'm not your slave then maybe we could survive as a species. I fail and die a miserable death then so be it, at least I made the choices that got me there and had some fun along the way. I wouldn't give that up for guaranteed success if it meant that I was dependent on anyone.

Dependence = Slavery. So stop asking for free shit from Uncle Sugar as well.

Liberty and the marketplace of ideas. I think because there were so many life options I didn't feel right committing myself to anything until well in my 20's. I could see where all young people have that issue and thus the stay-at-home college graduate complex. I felt as though not only would I be cheating myself but God for not following my natural path whatever that might be. Retaining your independence the entire time without pushing away family and friends is the challenge we get sometimes as a price for our exploration of ideas. Ever notice how people you thought were friends for decades can suddenly turn on you if you present the wrong idea such as No moon landings or 9/11 was an inside job with no planes? It's as if you had personally attacked them instead of offering a different view of events. It has taken me aback just how vociferous they can get over things like that!

Anyways that is a cool video and back to basics. A good reminder of the essential ideas we need to embrace.

Regarding property, I agree. So spot on. I actually used that argument during my divorce years ago, which involved the discovery of massive amounts of fraud concerning keeping me in the relationship and into marriage. One of my arguments was that he removed my ability to make informed choice and, as such, committed theft of my time, toil and talent (my property). The judge agreed. In fact, the appellate judge agreed, too. Yes, my former husband appealed the divorce judgment.

Indeed. Over the years, I've shared this many, but, from the current state of affairs, clearly not enough. =)

As you know, this applies in both the micro and the macro, Zedakah. And, if we were better at refusing to enable or reinforce such in the micro, I posit we wouldn't see and experience so much at all levels inclusive of the national and world landscapes.

Then again, how does one really "cure" people who lack the full traits of humanity? (Which I believe is structural and functional brain miswiring and deficits...a topic for a different thread. Ha!)

Some things I love about marxist policies not all is government programs for the poor like social security and Medicare and Medicaid and so we have child health care for struggling parents who could get affordable drugs lowered by subsidies insurance.

Indeed! Even when I fuck up and make some crazy ass mistake or poor decision, I own and learn from it. Know your values and principles and stand firmly on that foundation. That alone will help keep a person on the right track and sane. A lesson I learned far too late in life.
