Many people don't know this, but in Russia, under Stalin, as early as the 30's , Russia produced and sold Model Airplane Engines!

There are a lot of good russian products. And thanks to essentially slave labor and policy driven overproduction can still get "New Old Stock" tube amps, lens, and microphones that are very good at really low prices.
These are categories I've used, but I'm sure there are others.
