Seriously, I wasn't away that long....

Make sure she’s okay. Try to stop any major leaks if she’s bleeding badly. If conscious, ask her what hurts and try to engage conversation to keep her awake and calm if entrapped. As long as you are with her, she won’t panic as badly…hold her hard if necessary to keep her calm. Repeat that you’re not going to leave her by herself and that help is coming. Probably in a state of shock if conscious so keep repeating your reassurances. Assess whether or not any head or spinal injuries are present, if she’s awake- try to get her to stay put if it’s safe for her to do so. Advise 911 dispatch of what’s going on and what the injuries look like if any are obvious, or if she informs you of injuries. If unconscious remember there may be spinal injury that could paralyze her if you try to physically move her…so unless the vehicle is on fire just let her stay put, keep any major bleeding under control via pressure and wait for the cavalry.
