I’ve let family on east coast know about this and that I’d let them know if and when they needed to head north to the higher elevations.

People need to keep in mind that with Mount St. Helens it was rumbling for several weeks before one strong quake dislodged the side of the mountain and it blew out sideways.

Similar historical reports exist for both Krakatoa and Tambora in what is now Indonesia (Tambora believed to be the largest reuption in the last 2000 or so years).

Ditto for Mt. Pinatubo in the Phillipeans, which is the largest or second largest eruption since Tambora.

In other words do NOT expect a MAJOR event IMMEDIATELY on LaPalma. It needs to fester and build up a "head of steam" so to speak before it will do anything serious.

How long?

Based on history I would say a minimum of 2 weeks to 3 weeks, if Tambora and Pinatubo are any indication 6 to 8 weeks.

===============================================

It would be nice to know if Geologists have determined if the Island of LaPalma IS CRACKED all the way across, like the big island of Hawaii is, ... which would facilitate an entire portion of the island splitting off and falling into the sea. Maybe somebody can chime in with that research.

WOW! Comparing this latest picture with the one in your original post on page 1, it is obvious that either this whole section is primed to break and slide right off or the volcanic eruption and magma event is going to be occurring on the Western side of this island which is the worst possible scenerio for the United States East Coast, correct? That is a terrifying picture actually!

I would usually say the same as these pre-doom threads fester for a few hours and eventually die off. This hasn't lost steam and seems to be increasing in intensity every day. (well day 3 now)... The swarm is shifting west and the depth is moving close to the surface. The hope is that it's nothing, but we'll need to keep a close eye on this for at least a month.

Or is this a potato dead thread ?

The fact that this is at orange is concerning. Imminent means it's going to happen and not later!

I am not saying to panic over this, but definitely worth watching. A mega-tsunami that the ocean pulled out of its ass is not a surprise I want in this lifetime.

Good info.

Like Mt St Helens--something to keep on the radar and have an eye out for possibly into the longer-short term.

Man...it really isn't.

This is the Final Days we are into and there is definitely a very specific verse in Revelation that matches up to CV happening as forewarned.

There is more reason to believe it will happen and we are indeed watching it before it does than there is to think this will piddle away back into nothing.
If it isn't in The Bible then it is just conspiracy theory.

A couple of years ago, when LaPalma was active, someone somewhere put out a video that simulated the tsunami from this event ... how it would affect the East Coast, and how far up in elevation one needed to be to escape the worst of it.

Does anyone remember this video and where to find it? I'm in the foothills of North Carolina, about 1600 ft above sea level - is that high up enough and far inland enough?

I'm not sure how far inland it'll go, and will be safe to be, but my understanding is the initial wave created at the impact site would be 15,000ft high, but by the time it travels to the US East Coast, it'll have diminished to about 150' high.

While that is a drastic decrease, 150' high is still a mega tsunami and will destroy and kill a lot in its path once it hits land.

If you're 1,600ft above sea level, you should be good. STILL......it doesn't hurt to have a contingency plan and a bag ready to go just in case!!
