Mount Saint Helens volcano in Washington State erupted
in May 1980--I WAS THERE--erupted after a 3.0 pt. quake.
Vancouver, WA could see the eruption cloud from way down
there--it had its own weather and created a HUGE landslide
destroying 1/2 the side of that mountain.

watched this jaw-dropping event from a hillside in
Vancouver, WA. It made its own weather and collapsed
the whole side of its volcano in only minutes.

3.0 pt. doesn't sound that big, but with volcanos it
can be significant.
