People need to keep in mind that with Mount St. Helens it was rumbling for several weeks before one strong quake dislodged the side of the mountain and it blew out sideways.
Similar historical reports exist for both Krakatoa and Tambora in what is now Indonesia (Tambora believed to be the largest reuption in the last 2000 or so years).
Ditto for Mt. Pinatubo in the Phillipeans, which is the largest or second largest eruption since Tambora.
In other words do NOT expect a MAJOR event IMMEDIATELY on LaPalma. It needs to fester and build up a "head of steam" so to speak before it will do anything serious.
How long?
Based on history I would say a minimum of 2 weeks to 3 weeks, if Tambora and Pinatubo are any indication 6 to 8 weeks.

It would be nice to know if Geologists have determined if the Island of LaPalma IS CRACKED all the way across, like the big island of Hawaii is, ... which would facilitate an entire portion of the island splitting off and falling into the sea. Maybe somebody can chime in with that research.

I was giving this a lot of thought last night, and NO WAY will they make some kind of announcement. Can you imagine the fucking PANIC in the streets??? They will say nothing. Not a word. Maybe like a few hours before they'll say "get to a shelter" but they will never let on that a 100 foot wave is coming. How can you tell a population that? You can't and you won't, period.
