Why wont the media cover this they will die to if there in boston nyc or miami

Not sure what the answer would be in such a scenario, but simply getting on the media and saying "hey a 200 foot wave will be hitting the East Coast in 8 hours!" would cause pure pandemonium.
I think maybe they would try to open up all the interstates as departure lanes but even still, if you have seen the tri-state are during rush hour you know even that would not work.
I don't think there is any evil reason they would withhold the information. It would be out of desperation and not knowing what to do.
It would be on a scale never seen in the memory of human experience.

timeframe is NOT long enough to evacuate the millions in

that it would be more "humane" for people to face this at
home rather than in a car trying to get out of the way.
