Time to say goodbye for volcano-thank you for all support :) People in the US seem most concerned with the Wave itself ... what should really worry people not directly on the coasts are the Coastal and low lying NUKE plants. Coastal Nuke Plants seem to be prolific in Western and Southwest Europe so special attention should be paid to this by Europeans (imo). A MAJOR tsunami out of the Atlantic could well create Fukushima like events for MULTIPLE nuke plants in Europe. In the US the Southeast is infested with Nuke Plants, a number of them on river tributaries that put them close to sea level elevations. Those that are low lying near the ocean WOULD have a "Flood Up The River" situation that could well inundate one or more. (Remember the WATER from any tsunami is going to run up river at a very rapid rate, raising the level of the river to close to what it is on the coast, even far far inland) So .... pay attention to where the US nuke plants on the East Coast and in the Southeast are located. It is highly unlikely that any tsunami will result from a volcanic eruption of this volcano. This vocano has erupted a number of times in the past with NO tsunami resulting, but the risk isn't zero either. A land collapse of part of that island IS going to happen someday, but it could still be a 1000 years, or 10,000 years, into the future. Stay safe everyone (and yes I would take all the dreamers and psychics seriously and consider leaving Florida and the coastal plains of the East and Gulf Coasts if I lived there) |

Time to say goodbye for volcano-thank you for all support :) Unless my Espanol is flawed…. Doesn’t that say no dangers to population?. That's when you know it's time to start running ! The fact that the earthquakes are centred on latitude 28°34′20″N 017°51′24″W (29.57229 N, −17.85701) at an average depth of ~21 kilometres (13 mi), was conveniently ignored or mentioned in passing. Such earthquakes are undetectable except by specialist equipment and therefore at best may be the precursory activity for an eruption at some time in the future. I guess Copernicus might be pointed there. Harmonic tremor. |

The Copernicus Program has begun. This means all of Europes (EU) monitoring systems are focused now. They are very worried. Focused on the Cumbre Vieja only, or all of western Europe coastlines? Monitoring the Canary Islands primarily. There could be other problems - The neighboring island Tenerife is a caldera. "The Las Cañadas volcanic caldera on Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, has generated at least eight major eruptions during the last 700,000 years. These catastrophic events have resulted in eruption columns of over 25km high and expelled widespread pyroclastic material over 130km. By comparison, even the smallest of these eruptions expelled over 25 times more material than the 2010 eruption of Eyjafjallajökull, Iceland." The entire chain is unstable, and they want the whole picture. |

Time to say goodbye for volcano-thank you for all support :) The EU getting highly involved (probably have been) may suggest that Satellite imagery is being used to see if the caldera chamber is rising. Small amounts mean big things. But it's pretty obvious they have continuous movement. They have to calculate all "what if". Instead of a 100ft. wave for the US coast, it was a 1000ft., sounds Biblical. Like the sand and shell deposits they've studied, all the way to Raleigh, NC. |
