The anti volcano posting I've seen lately is absolutely disgusting. It's driven by nothing but some bullshit, antiseismic conspiracy that "the volcanos are going to erupt and cause a giant tsunami, bro". Do you even realize how insane that is to imply that volcanos have that much influence in the world? Get your heads checked, GLP.

I visited the Canary islands of La Palma and Fuerteventura in the mid eighties for windsurfing demo tour.
I have to say, La Palma gave me the heebie jeebies like no other island or mainland among the multi-plethra that I have set a foot on in my six decades of earth travels to date.

I knew nothing at all about La Playa's earthquake, landslide, megatsunami potential at that time.
But I definitely felt a foreboding, an unexplained uneasiness there that seemed to emanate from the dry dusty ground itself, and not from local culture there, or anything in the world of men.

La Playa's vibe was otherworldly or primeval, antediluvian worldly, as if its tumultuous creation time wasn't quite done.
Once we moved on to Fuerteventura, my foreboding subsided, but even there felt like being in the shadow of something bad.

What's intriguing, in hindsight/insight, is that instant that I saw this Canary Island volcano thread hit the board,
it took me back to that foreboding land.
But instead of speaking out and sharing my personal discomforting experience on La Palma, I went into jokester/fact spouter mode, making several posts that were talking around the core fear issue.
No, Nope, don't want to feel THAT again!

My God's own truth is, that island's eerie presence scared the living bejesus out of me.

I don't know if it has been said yet but,
the US government is broke. How could they possibly take care of 65 million or whatever refugees?
I mean how much are we hearing about New Orleans 2.0?
This thing pops that is New Orleans times the EAST COAST!

It will be much cheaper for the government to just let it happen without warning.
They might even justify it by saying that the people are better off dying where they live than stuck in traffic fleeing the cities.

Guarantee it that all the friends and families will be on choppers and private aircraft out of there the second it happens.

Someone out that way should observe the air traffic and patterns. When rich people and high dollar donation people disappear from the east coast you my want to consider going for coffee 3-4 hours inland.

I pray that nothing will happen. But, for worst-case-scenario sake, let's say that it does. The military, red cross and fema are called in to, "help". Can you think of a better opportunity to jab everyone that is a refugee from such a large event than at these refugee centers? They could make it mandatory to receive shelter and food. Scary times.

Interesting fact from a fisherman friend of mine.


Historically and currently it is common for fisherman from islands blighted by undersea activity and volcanic activity for them to return to their islands to find they have been destroyed.

The rise of the tsunamis is so gentle over deep water they are in complete ignorance of what has taken place at their homes.

The jab should be the least of your/our concerns should the worst happen. As another poster mentioned, the true worry will be the invitation to the Chinese to come and ‘help’. Guess what ‘build back better’ means?

I worked in DC as well for a Senator (early 90's). Wish I knew then what I know now! That city is primed for destruction.

In my dream about a megatsunami, I was standing on a bridge overlooking the Potomac River right there in DC. The wall of water I saw in the dream was so tall it blocked out the sky. If that dream was prophetic and this is THAT event, I am inclined to think the LaPalma volcano is being triggered to be blamed for the tsunami but that the tsunami will, in fact, be caused by an asteroid. Only time will tell.
