Yes, good question; I am wondering that same thing. I know people on the East Coast that have concerns there....

Too many variables — the best we have is the flood maps (I’ll find which page) but a Tsunami plus debris 20miles from shore and elevated (100’) you SHOULD be okay.

Don’t forget it can push into rivers and much of DC is below sea level

don't know...they say the safest thing to do would be to be at least 20 miles inland and away from bodies of water.

Note posts above ... an EXPLOSIVE EVENT will only come AFTER the vents have opened up and the ground water starts to super heat and MORE magma can start to work it's way upwards. 2 days to 2 weeks is a good time frame to look for that dynamic to start to show itself (though Tambora is reported to have rumbled for about a month before it blew itself to smitherines in the largest volcanic explosion in the last 2000 years leading to the "Year Without A Summer")

(water purification bag system, water containers, more keroscene for winter heat - yep refineries and thus gasoline and keroscene would be hard to get)

I have +38.1C fever, headache, muscles aches and soreness, some chest discomfort, a stuffed nose with plenty of wet mucus. Haven't slept for two days soon. Grabbing some Zinc+D+C+Quercetin for that. This is almost identical clinical picture so far as what I had a year back and the doctors called Corona.

BS! After the event, they can say whatever they like. They did expect an eruption but not openings in several places so close to the villages.

I've seen crazy demos and simulations where they show
the landslide and then this huge GROWING tidal wave
that wipes out the East Coast.

How the hell does it get bigger and bigger? BS.

Small ripple if any on other side of tub

Dropping a bowling ball, of course is a different matter.

Look at the size of La Palma compared to the Atlantic
Ocean with the vastness, depth,
and roughness of the underwater surface.

I can throw the biggest rock I can lift off the dock
at the lake. The decreasing wave/ripple won't even reach
the other shore. It dissipates over the vastness.

Now, I'm no rockologist, or waveologist, nor even a
bath tubologist.

Hell, I didn't even stay in a Holiday Inn last night.

I'm just looking at the scale of things here.
