Cumbre Vieja volcano post eruption phase! Time to say goodbye for volcano-thank you for all support :)

Anyone else having a bad feeling about this one? I've been around GLP for 15 years in one form or another and have watched many volcano thread doom. Like the iceland eruptions ect. Never had a concern. I watched and was interested but this time I have a real feeling of something major happening.

Just hope he's able to see what were seeing on the feeds. cant help but think we have the best seat. but he's got it in 4dx

Watched from the get-go on the live feed as the fissures opened/unzipped.

The magmatic pressure is incredible, shooting out of each vent with much force.

Not 2018 Hawaii/Leilani Estates, nor 2021 Iceland was this fast from EQ swarm/identified magma migration and deformation, to eruption. In ten years volcanologists will marvel in their studies at how fast this occurred-start to eruption.

Even Mount St. Helens had a much longer build-up to it's eventual Phreatic/Lateral eruption.

WHAT WE DO NOT KNOW (or, at least I do not know):
*where is the water reservoir that is being held in place by the geologic features of Cumbre Vieja, in relation to this erupting vent?

This is the most important question that must be answered. Probably, most likely, the USGS and those volcanologists who put together the studies on La Palma already know this info.

To help in relieving panic and undo stress and the propagation of misinformation, getting this info out to the public should be paramount. For our sense of relief, or safety.

IF (knowing "IF" is a King), this pressurized magma makes it way to the water reservoir(s)...IF it is a trickle and only warms the water slowly, no issue.
BUT, if what I'm seeing on live feed right now were to occur to those water reservoirs in rapid-time, that COULD lead to a Phreatic eruption. How large a Phreatic eruption? No one knows, unless the instruments in tracking the magma movement have become very sophisticated since I was last in the field (YEAR ago).

This eruption may end with nothing, OR it could be the worst-case playing out before our eyes.

WE DON'T KNOW HOW THIS WILL END.

BUT, the USGS and world's volcanologist/scientific community might.

At any rate, be prepared for people screaming "the sky is falling". And be prepared to leave your area at a moments notice-just to be safe.

If you pray, pray for the good health of all concerned, and the clarity of mind and good morals of those who are in power in this world making descisions.

Stay the hell out of any kind of tunnel. But you knew that already of course.

I will admit I'm not liking the way these fissures are opening.... I'm also very leery of the loose nature of the lava flows. There will be a shift in eruption type in the coming days I believe.

Disclaimer... I'm not a expert just a geologist.

Actually, it's higher than that periodically.
