There is only one expert analysis.
This system has been here for millions of years.
It creates volcanic islands.
Volcanic islands collapse and create tsunamis.
This island will collapse in the next 100.000 thousand years.
No expert can't predict when it will collapse
No expert can say it will not collapse

The problem is time scale.
Things happen in geology that define periods of thousands of years.
We are in a time period until something drastically changes

And for a geologist, a geophysicis, or even a paleomagnetologist (those are the experts that have been chilling me on YouTube) this is perfectly normal.
In fact, the longer I look at it and research about it, the more normal it looks.

Vent appears to be getting bigger, and maybe a new vent above it? Or maybe a lava river merging with the vent?

it appears to be ramping down now, and soon to peter out.....

That will suck, with the wind direction, that laze is going to really affect those on the west.

Besides the laze, am I missing something on a doom scenario when this hits the sea?

OP/Mods, if my post below is too far off topic and/or risks derailing the thread, feel free to delete it, you won't hurt my one feeling I have left :)

I understand how you feel, it does seem like so many major things are happening all at once and there is nothing any of us can do about it.
I have a coping system that works for me, developed over decades of being involved in critical incident command and planning. I will share it below, maybe it can help others that are feeling the weight of everything bearing down on them:

A: Pre-incident planning. Most everyone on this site does this, it's basically prepping for suspected incidents. Flooding, volcanic eruptions, pandemic, etc...This is If/Then thinking on a bigger scale. If (X) happens, I will do (A). If you have already considered what may happen and how you will respond to it, your reaction time will be greatly reduced, giving you an edge over most everyone else.

B: I concentrate on things I can control, ie preps, contingency planning, keeping the family aware of situations, etc...

C: I keep aware of things that I have no control over, but I can control my/our response to whats happening. For a simple example, mask requirements by stores. I can't control the store imposing the requirement, but I can control our response by not patronizing there.

D: Stay aware of patterns and how situations evolve. For example, thanks to this site, I had a huge head start on pandemic plans for the municipal agency I worked for back in January of 2020. Using info gleaned from all of the wonderful and knowledgeable people here, I was able to put together a response plan that had our agency months ahead of even the county public health department.

As I said, most people on here do this already, but maybe they dont know they're doing it. Knowing that I have a spouse, children, grandchildren as well as a few extended family and friends counting on me staying on top of things helps me keep from just sitting in the basement and drinking myself into a stupor, lol.
