Haven't kept up with this tread over the past few days. Just looked at the EQ map for La Palma and noticed there were a couple EQ on the OTHER SIDE of the island's ridge. This cannot be good that they are spreading to the other side....????

The "slide block" proposed by Ward & Day actually extends under the ridge snd out the other side by a kilometer or two.
(See the OP post #1 for the link to the paper..the scenatic is on page 2).

EQ's up and down the ridge are deep at the moment, 8-12km. Whilst concerning I am watching to see if that depth rises closer to the surface. I would guess anything less than 5km and over 3.0Mag is VERY concerning.

Anyone else disagree?

Agree. And I would say number matters too.

The ground might have time to resettle between given the constant vibrations.

I have attached a 3d map of the earthquakes. There are 3 groups that I see, the deepest ones, the middle ones, and the shallow ones. The middle ones seem to reveal two lobes to a magma chamber under the island; a west lobe and a southward eastward lobe. It looks to me that magma heat/pressure is now working on the southward lobe which could result in vents opening at the South end.
