Would the wave be so high as to capsize a vessel or would they just bounce on it as it passes? Talking about if they are well out to sea.

Lastly, how would the wave affect Europe and more specifically, the English Channel? I haven't heard much from any UKers anticipating doom.

Ships would move to deep water. The build up of a tsunami wave occurs as the wave reaches shallower water and the energy contained serves to create the ever larger, cresting type wave. "Out to sea" the wave generated by a collapse would not be all that noticeable to a ship other than as a "swell" rolling by.

As to the English Channel, sorry, can't be of assistance.
