I'm curious, based on geological and historical data, has anyone ventured a guess as to how long this eruption may be expected to last?
.
Quoting: Whatever It Takes The last eruption was 33 days.. so the length of this is really anyone's guess... my personal opinion is at least that or longer Quoting: Madmojo1980 ^ guess this answers my first question... So I guess all we're waiting on is EQs? Seems like if activity continues but remains small, then it's unlikely anything big would happen. Larger EQs = more on alert Quoting: SteamrolledGobias Remeber those explosions a few days ago? Experts believed it was from contact with water. They do not know where the water was from if I remember right. If ocean water somehow gets into this, I don't think it will need EQs. As the expert said of that, this will never end if that happens. It was quite a few days ago now, maybe 3 or 4. I believe it was here I saw it. [ link to twitter.com (secure)] CC might remember and have better input on that. Also, deformation would be something to look out for. I think that "slowed" down.
