Notice the smoke colors tonight? See how they are all 3 the same color?

Main vent, lower lava fountain, ocean lava fall.

We got water in the system.

Wouldn't it be more stromboli-like explosions if so?
 Quoting: Tangy

Ehhh. Hard to tell. Depends on soooo many factors.

But it is already going in a bad direction. Stromboli wasn’t a positive thing for this guy because of the already moving landmass.

And the data doesn’t support a Stromboli incident.

My money is its already slipping.

The mods in feed 2 said earlier in chat that what is now feed 3 is on the ship. I'm wondering if they moved feed 2 out on a ship too, for safety reasons. I know they were using people's balconys the other day.

The bangs have me puzzled. They seem to come in 2's mostly.

eta: I should say...the LIVE stream on feed 3. Does that make more sense?
 Quoting: Texan Buckeye

Lol it's all good, trying to figure it out with you! Just thankful we have any streams up at all for our own early warning, may be the only one we get...nah haven't been in the vid feed chat since earlier, gets too messy.

Just a thought about the camera shaking. We know feed 3 is on the research ship. Could feed 2 also be onboard?
 Quoting: Texan Buckeye

Link plz
 Quoting: Inerone

For what? Feed 3 is only in the little box on feed 2 now. They took it down.

Here's feed 2.

[link to www.youtube.com (secure)]

The reason I asked is because someone in the chat on feed 2 thinks the blast noises we're hearing could be rocks falling in the water. It could explain the wind, too.
 Quoting: Texan Buckeye

Feed 2 always sounds like someone walking around on gravel to me

I'm thinking it's high up on a ridge somewhere getting a bit more than the 22MPH gusts. Winds tend to increase as you go up in altitude.
 Quoting: LooneyBin

Feed 1 is getting a lot of wind. You can hear it whistling between the booms, that's causing some of the shaking.

The thing about NY and the surrounding Great Lakes region, is they haven't discovered the volcano that was responsible for evaporating the sea water, forming the vast salt deposits, and heated the water allowing coral reefs to flourish.

I just got done watching the History Channel, regarding how the Great Lakes were formed, and I can now see why people who may have evacuated off of La Palma at the beginning of the eruption may have returned, thinking this eruption is not much different from all the previous ones. Any one of those eruptions could have took off into a much larger eruption.

In the Great Lakes video, rock formations were mis-identified as evidence of glacial activity, when I think they look more like they're volcanic. Such as, the great weight of the glacial ice, as it flowed down from the north, it gouged out the over 1000 foot deep lake. But the lake is level, with a great dip in the middle, same as the other lakes, except for Superior Lake, which has pumice floating along the shore, and vast amounts of iron rich ore in Minnesota, which I have seen personally. In fact it is very difficult to use a CB radio up there, because of all the iron nearby.

Oh, the video also stated that the enormous salt caverns under Lake Erie are 1,700 feet under the lake. Kinda difficult to evaporate water that far below sea level. Gonna be interesting when they find the volcanic system that created all that.
 Quoting: The Starbuckian

I'll have to watch that one. Thanks for bringing it up.

I had forgotten about a conversation I had one here, years ago, with ST in BG. The alien guy? He posted that there was an inactive volcano under a golf course in Bowling Green. I got mad at him because I grew up in the area and never before or since had heard of it, BUT, I've never forgotten about it. I've never found verification and I kind of forgot about it, but now that we've moved back up here, I'll have to do some digging again.

We never learned about possible volcanic activity here in school, just the glacial theories, mostly because of the Glacial Grooves on Kelley's Island. We used to be able to walk on them and check them out. Last time we were over there, they were fenced off and a group was studying them.
 Quoting: Texan Buckeye

Maybe bring a 4 foot level, or even a laser level to see how little elevation is gained going north, within those grooves. Also look for fumerole artifacts. In the road cuts, you can see evidence of volcanic ash as the rain erodes the soil they cut through to make the road. For me, there's a layer of exposed ash laden soil near a place formerly called Carriage Hill, which is within Athens. After seeing the erosion of ash laden soil that was erupted by Mt St Helens, it's easy to distinguish.

Some tree species can do better than others in different soil types, which can help you to see if the soil changes over an area. For instance, in my region of Ohio, there is a particular tree of the white oak group, forgot the name at the moment, that likes limestone, and only grows within the exposed layer on that hillside.

In reference to the video I cited above, we have dolomite nodules in the clay at the top of the ridge here. But our brine water begins at 500 feet down in the ground. Fresh water is on top of that.

Our oil bearing Clinton Sandstone formation is at 3000 feet down, here, and gradually comes to the surface in West Virginia. Many rock climbers like to clamber all over it. I think it's down by the New River Gorge.
 Quoting: The Starbuckian

Ohio imo has had some absolutely HUGE earthquakes in the past, though because of the constant rain and weathering with deep top soil everywhere the indications have obviously been covered up in the surface terrain over time and NO BIG ONES have been recorded since the White Man arrived in that area - the first explorers came through beginning in the early 1700's.

In Wood County, not too far from Bowling Green (where BG in Bowling Green who posts here appears to be) there is a place to the east of Bowling Green (12-15 miles called "sand hill" which is the highest terrain in Wood County ... it literally IS a SAND HILL that covers about 30-50 acres and is about 80'-120' ABOVE the absolutely flat surrounding land.

To my eye it appears to have been a HUGE SAND BLOW from a HUGE earthquake. There is nothing else like it that I know of within that entire NW Ohio area, most of the rest of the soil is deep loam, ... and I speculate that before it got worn down by erosion it must have been at least twice as high, maybe three times higher, than it is today. Potentially an indication (imo a real indication) of a very very large EQ hitting that area in the last 500 years.
 Quoting: Midwest Skeptic

Interesting!! Now y'all really are sending me down a rabbit hole. Do you know offhand about where the sand hill is? When I was a kid, my family summer camped at a campground off of Rt. 6 and we drive through there frequently.

The map is blank for me at the National Data Buoy website where all the bouys used to appear between La Palma and the US east coast . I find that disconcerting because it was somewhat comforting to look at that page that I had saved from a link here and see the inactive buoy markers on the map . It is blank now .

That is not the same map that shows the ocean between the Canary Islands and our east coast . It had yellow orange and red symbols .

DART is for tsunamis..yes it does show the Atlantic ocean.

Both maps are loading fine for me.
 Quoting: Murphy61

The link I posted which is blank tonight , has always shown a large picture of the ocean starting with the northwest coast of Africa with an expansive view of the ocean and bouys going to South America and up to our whole east coast and Canada and the Western Europe coast . All with bouys and it is not there if you click on my link . Its been there for a week . You keep saying it works but you post a different map on YOUR link . Click on mine of which I speak which is a much more detailed map than you give . You cannot even see West Africa or Spain or La Palma on the link and map that you insist is there . I was merely wondering why it is blank all of a sudden . Perhaps it is just maintenance .

My son made me a double espresso.

I'll make a multi and share when I get it together.
 Quoting: Tangy

Though you can simply ask for a double espresso, you’ll sound a little more knowledgeable if you use Italian. A double espresso is also called a “doppio”, which means double in Italian. And keep in mind that a double shot of espresso is often the norm at coffee shops, so you may not need to specify a double at all.
