I would just like to express my thanks and gratitude to all of the great people here who are taking their time and using their expertise to keep the rest of us updated and in the know, as much as possible, about this wolcano and the POSSIBLE doom of a land-mass collapse. You guys truly rock! I appreciate Mister Pillarr for creating this thread, and to Jazz and LJS for helping to keep all us minions in line. And to WA for offering to be a telephone life-line in the event of communication black-out. There are many more who have dedicated a large chunk of their lives to this thing.

I have a question and if it was asked before, I apologize.

They have been saying that the lava has gotten thicker?
What does this mean? Is this a good thing or a bad thing or not a thing at all?

I understand that thicker, more viscous magma is more gassified than runny, thinner magma. But I’m not a Subject Matter Expert. CC can tell you the correct technical answer

I believe the viscosity of the lava is still relatively thin. Which works on our behalf.

The wideo doesn’t play for me, but the still image looks very strange. Have you tried wiping a bit of it, to see what color or texture it is?

This might seem off topic, but the past few days i've fallen down the parasite rabbit hole and...

I couldn't help but notice a couple things that relate to this volcano.

1) Can dogs smell parasites?

(I understand the Canary Isalnds were named for the dogs who lived there)

2) wormwood kills parasites.

(Canary Island Wormwood grows there)

I live on a dirt road so could be dust from that but it has poured enough to wash residue and it is mainly dark brown, not this color....

This is in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan....

I saw someone posted a thread link earlier about ash in Ohio this morning. I'm going to check windy and also does anyone else have a good source for where the ash cloud is heading??
