Cumbre Vieja volcano post eruption phase! Time to say goodbye for volcano-thank you for all support :)

Downgraded to 4.3 Mag

I was looking at the earthquakes looking for a pattern and noticed that often after there's been an earthquake at La Palma within 2 or 3 minutes later there is an earthquake in Crete or vice versa and always same/similar coordinates in Crete so I wonder if there is a relationship between these areas underground even though Crete is far away.

I also notice the Crete earthquakes are usually same time every morning around 8am ish when the Le Palma volcano dies off and smokes!

Might be a coincidence but its everyday whilst this eruption has been going on.

The crete connection goes all the way back to around page 700 I think, but I can't find it at all. I believe it was Ostria1 that brought it up.

There was a geologist in Greece theorized that quakes moved from east to west, or was it west to east. Anyway there definitely does appear to be a connection.

Exactly. I expect a mod would have it superpined so fast your head will spin.

Did schools stop teaching how to study with distractions?

I'm afraid if the the worst case scenario happened, everything might go down and there wouldn't even be news. Just a bad feeling about it and a total black-out

Me logged in earlyish today. I smiled when I saw the eating posts. As I went back tgrough the pages, I noted complaints again. For me it was a relief. Shows the volcano has not done anything outrageous over night.

Fog here on The Levels, or maybe volcano smoke (I joke there) but does anyone have a link for where the plume is going to? I have looked previously and not been successful.

These people are avid watchers.

If they are chatting about plants, you can assume the Wolcano is doing it's puffy business.

It seems an odd spot to have a 4.3... I guess it's not where I expected to see one. I thought the bigger EQs would be closer to the ridge. I wonder what's going on down there...

I would seriously consider not thinking of them as “earthquakes”.

Picture gas explosions or expansions …. And magma moving and sloshing about. And cracks. Not everything is nice and picture perfect plumbing in Wolcano.
