It would be nice if we as a forum could all form a little post-apocalyptic tribe after Civilization collapses. It’s a shame we’re all so geographically disconnected.

It’s a good idea to start thinking about exactly who you are going to trust and count on when/if this all goes down. A tsunami of these proportions wouldn’t just be the end of the East Coast…it would mean full SHTF in a matter of days or weeks. However long it takes people to feel that first burning pain and impulse of true hunger…or however long it takes them to realize FEMA/.gov won’t ever turn the lights back on again. However long it takes them to realize there is no cavalry on the way to make things normal again…and that no help is coming. Wouldn’t be long at all before assault, robbery, murder and rape is everywhere and out of control. We are talking about the sun setting forever and subsequently, mankind’s darkest night.

Start forming your tribe and building relationships now, if you haven’t already. Your blood family and extended family will be the nucleus of your whole world and social network. Be careful who you trust…don’t just let randoms have access to your stash/family/vulnerabilities. Make sure you can ONE HUNDRED PERCENT trust anyone you’re inviting to the inner circle. And be sure you know the EXTENT to which ANY individual can be trusted. Example: being able to trust someone to make a fair trade or deal isn’t the same as being able to trust them around your wife/kids. It’s a different level of trust with much higher stakes if you end up realizing that there was an error in judgement.

Humans will become far more animalistic. Ever seen how traitorous and backstabbing some wild primate species can be with each other when it comes to females, social hierarchy and physical resources? Same difference. Imagine them with guns and far greater intelligence. They will kill and destroy anything that they perceive vulnerability within and only fear the apex predators above them on the food chain. We as a species will become bloodthirsty animals again.

The world is going to be a very different place when SHTF finally happens.
