User ID: 78686355 09/12/2021 09:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Where? I bought a bag today of an off brand that tasted fine, 2.99. If it says Chocolate liquor and cocoa as ingredients it should be just as good as a pricy brand. I'm spoiled being in Nashville as we have a candy company here who makes chocolate from raw beans. But I still buy the cheaper stuff most of the time. I stopped using nestles, something changed and they don't taste good anymore. If you bought milk at a connivance store for 4.69 it was probably 2.99 at the grocery store. I can taste the chemicals in most milk brands. Purity is good tasting commercial milk. Milk in some areas of the country tastes freaking great. I was spoiled growing up in PA in the old days of the 1960s, we still got unpasteurized milk, then pasteurized delivered ice cold in returnable glass bottles. When that stopped it was a sad day. When I was on Lanai last month my waitress said it was 11 dollars for a gallon. It's why many take the ferry over to Maui and load up at Costco and take it back via ferry. My lunch order from a local restaurant had exactly half the amount of meat in it as usual yesterday but a 30 percent increase in price. User ID: 69327151 United States 09/12/2021 10:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I remember reading something about nestles using child labor to spray pesticides on the cacao plants. Those are two good reasons not to buy chocolate from that company. I buy organic, fair trade cacao instead and make banana buckwheat pancakes with it. Cooked bananas are so sweet that the cacao balances them. That's why I buy organic milk instead. No nasty chemicals--and healthier animals. A half-gallon of organic milk is more than $4 here in Manhattan, but my health is worth it. And I figure that a lot of the markup on food here is due to the astronomically high rents that stores pay here. Manhattan is a small island, the most densely populated place in the USA and is still considered desirable despite rising crime and foolish choices of some of our elected representatives and the people who elected them Last Edited by Strength Through Kindness on 09/12/2021 10:19 PM Good thoughts, good words, good deeds. |

But i told them no more non necessary purchases. They get what they want anyways. Theyre not spoiled they don't ask for much. But no more friday pizza hut. I got afew 50 pound sacks of flour i need to use anyways. I said we can make it ourselves. Pizza is dirt cheap to make compared to buying. Also no chinese . I can make orangle chicken and beef and broccoli. I guess ill bust open that bag of dehydrated milk. Time to mix in my preps into the weekly menu. Also ill incubate 40 chickens every month from now on. Also i can start baking bread. Its better tasting anyways. Time to start using the preps. |

After all if you have the land you can just keep your own cow or goat! Some people drink sheeps milk. I hope I get to see Hawaii. I'm really sad about the travel thing, breaks my heart. It's not good to drink that too much though, as it is for baby cows. I stick to almond, soy, and oat milk -- all are excellent. Oat milk is also good for cardiovascular health. I have oat cereal (no sugar) with fresh fruit and oat milk for a double benefit. ~~*NOT* a very nice kitty!~~ "Plan for the worst, hope for the best, and don't live in fear." |
