Who has been fired or resigned due to vaccine mandates? what are you doing for income?

To be honest, I'd die on the same hill over a hair style.

As a person with regular hair, I've never had to ... but if work suddenly implemented a regulation that made me change my hair in some permanent way ... they'd have to fire me on principle.

We've only had casual discussions about this at work, and no one can believe there'd actually be a real, enforceable mandate.

We were doing fine with temperature checks.

We are way over 100 people, and, statistically in our state, most are already vaxxed.

So we're in wait-and-see mode, it seems.

I'm waiting and seeing.

I started more spinach and kale today, just in case I get fired in 2 months I can eat lol.

About six weeks ago my husband sat me down and told me he was going to get the J&J. He had a planned trip to Alaska for three weeks and was afraid things would go sideways when he was gone. Such as needed proof of poke to get home. He's gone and back by now. Thankfully I was out of town upon his return for a two-week getaway.

I told him under no circumstances would I follow through.
1) I've had covid and have the antibodies, took a blood test to prove it.
2) I have a medical condition that already could produce blood clots, not doing it. I proceeded to tell him that I would go to a camp if they force me, it's not happening.

I've had to cancel a cruise for January 2022 because I'm not getting a poke. I don't care, I feel, in my soul, I am making the right decision for me.

It was a big fight in our house and I had to resolve that "his body, his choice" and trust that God will protect me.
I've had my children, and have no chance of having any more.

We are fortunate enough to have our own business, a construction company that employs around 20 people. I want to encourage everyone that if they are having to make the choice and don't want the poke, look into starting something on your own, or with somebody, you can start with. We were in a situation about 17 years ago in which we had to start our own business and have been blessed. If you are a person with integrity, consider this your opportunity to shine.

I'll be separating from the military at 15 years. In 5 more years I would have gotten the pension, but something just feels overwhelmingly wrong about giving in to this vaccine. Luckily my wife is a foreign national (from a much less draconian country in regards to vaccines) and I have some financial support from my parents, so I'm fleeing the country. Just hope I can get out of here by the end of the year. I'm selling all my worldly possessions and starting over. I will have to live like a monk, but I can survive. My wife supports my decision which makes it a much easier choice for me.

I suspect this is a cover-your-ass move on the part of .gov ... considering the montage I just watched on the news of politicians explaining last year why we simply cannot mandate a vaccine.

Unlike the above poster, I'm not really opposed to the idea of being tested, but obviously would prefer not to. I was willing to have my temperature checked every day as a condition of employment ... that makes sense to me, whereas a vaccine does not, and the idea of constant testing seems really cost-prohibitive.

The exemptions will tell us if they really want us all to get jabbed or if they are just covering their asses.

I have an entire litany of sincere philosophical objections, including a lifelong conscientious objection to animal testing.

If that's not good enough, then they will fire me, and I'll stop making money for THEM.

I'll still find a way to earn a living though ... there's always a way.

Our governor in Michigan has lost her powers and now she is quiet. Rural Michigan is very conservative. Sneak across the border, we need more conservatives to insure the government never locks Michigan down again. Also with a strong state government we can tell the Fed No! Also. Sheriff's on the county level can actually arrest the Feds.

I work in government I have the option to get a religious exemption, I imagine they’ll beg me to fill it out or whatever but I don’t feel that is moral even though I really need the money. Even though it’s for religious reasons I don’t want it I don’t think this vaccine has anything to do with religion so I’ll let the dice roll and if they fire me then fine I’m not going to use my religion I have rights and I shouldn’t have to

My spouse is a school teacher and just go hired back with and ISD after many years. He tried all other option, charter, privates, online home school. Charter and private both were terrible and the online school was spotty with inconsistent pay and hours and no benefits. So it was great to be back at an ISD with at least much better pay and benefits.


We don't know what we are going to do yet. I guess catch up on bills to fall back again. We are old and already turned in our retirement to get by. We are by no means frivolous either. We have never taken a vacation, Only week end camping trips and week end getaways. Never had a new car. Except, for fabric covered furniture I always had second hand stuff. I even shop at the good will.

Growing marijuana in a state that supports it could work. I thought about it in Michigan which has very liberal dispensary laws. Also microgreens are profitable.

We are in such trying times... My "gut feeling" is telling me to move to a safe area if and when the time comes and I'm thinking the time will be very soon.. I am considering the rural mountains of NC. I have some connections to the area.

As a Christian, I truly believe bad can come out of good and change can be a blessing. I am truly blessed as looking back over my 50+ years on this earth I have always had my needs taken care of and I have never been hungry and truly never needed anything that a way was not provided.

I know this is a terrible situation with the mandates. To many things look so hopeless but its not hopeless as this may just be the thing to make people make that big move or open that business or to simply have faith.

It is hard to have hope as these mandated and the world in general has simply gone crazy but I think this is the very time we need to have faith.

We were not promised a fat 401K, a big house etc but we were told to not worry about our life. So what if you walk away from that 401K or that huge car or house payment? It all could end up being a blessing.


Have Faith Folks, during these tuff times as if you are a Believer we have instructions of what to do during times like these... Blessing everyone.

Wow - I'm so, so sorry you are in this situation. On top of the stress of the ridiculousness going on in the world and threat of job loss, to have to deal with a spouse who just rolled over and gave in to everything and got the jab is just too much! My heart goes out to you. You have some tough decisions to make and deep thinking to do. Best of luck to you in arriving at the best decision for you and your future! I got fired on Aug 24, for vax refusal.

You have my sympathy and my empathy. All we can do is wait, watch and be ready, because by Christmas if the unvaxxed are allowed to grocery shop I will deeply shocked.

It is going to get worse, I feel very strongly the market is shaky and may crash as a way to eliminate that pesky safety net people will use to avoid their poison mandates.

i lost my job (fired for not taking jab my work required 2 months ago) and only have the side hussle i had going bringing in money and it's no where near as busy as it was even 3 months ago... im worried luckily im very rural and there's plenty of coyotes rabbits antelope hell ill dig for grubs and eat ants and moths and crap without batting a eye.

things are getting real folks luckily i had/have a small garden and was able to get a good variety of canned goods before i went for broke.

im digging out a spot for a sunken earth warmed greenhouse hopefully with some light (im on solar) i can grow food year round

I have a serious question - serious point about this, though.

I have an occupation where there are always open positions and decent pay due to the fact you need an actual aptitude to do it. They tried many years ago to "offshore" the work I do, and/or import foreign kids with credentials to do it.

Yet here me and all my colleagues are, having not been offshored or replaced, for two more decades ... because the employers need the right people.

Sure, there's churn as various industries go up and down in growth, no job is or life, but there are always jobs.

I once had an irate, red faced boss scream at me "DO YOU KNOW WHY YOU ARE STILL HERE?"

I simply said, "because good software developers don't grow on trees."

That was the end of the conversation.

There are many, many other occupations where you can't simply replace 20-30% of your people with people wanting to and able to do that job. Law enforcement. Law itself. Jobs requiring security clearance or special licensing that takes years to achieve the requirements. There are occupations where people have to know what they are doing and put a lot of of years in in order for them to keep things running properly for their employers.

This is going to be a big problem for employers. I made decent money in restaurants in college. I'll be fine, but a lot of employers are going to be fucked.
