Anonymous Coward User ID: 80840431 United States 09/14/2021 02:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If I were you, I'd pull your 401k very, very quickly before the market hits the pavement like a egg thrown from a 40th floor window. This is the caveat in the 401k case. MOST people are sitting on a pile of money, they can outlast this nonsense for years. YEARS or decades. Some can retire. But, if they collapse the market tomorrow, that's when 401k's go poof. Who knows. The markets are rolling over now. Is it more buy the dip, or is it a legit collapse? Watch for gaps, that will answer all, and time will tell. However, if fired, 401k is instantly distributed. I happen to think they've thought about this considering the mandate timing deadlines. They know people are sitting on a pile of money. They are in a mad dash to get as many shot up as possible. You can move all your 401k money to a 401K eTrade account without any penalty. You don’t even have to invest the money anywhere .. it can just sit there. You can also put it into a precious metal ETF or Bitcoin ETF. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80840431 United States 09/14/2021 02:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm very interested to see the exemptions. Quoting: SugarSand I suspect this is a cover-your-ass move on the part of .gov ... considering the montage I just watched on the news of politicians explaining last year why we simply cannot mandate a vaccine. Unlike the above poster, I'm not really opposed to the idea of being tested, but obviously would prefer not to. I was willing to have my temperature checked every day as a condition of employment ... that makes sense to me, whereas a vaccine does not, and the idea of constant testing seems really cost-prohibitive. The exemptions will tell us if they really want us all to get jabbed or if they are just covering their asses. I have an entire litany of sincere philosophical objections, including a lifelong conscientious objection to animal testing. If that's not good enough, then they will fire me, and I'll stop making money for THEM. I'll still find a way to earn a living though ... there's always a way. I don’t trust those swabs. Why in the world does it have to go so deep? I don’t buy it. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80840431 United States 09/14/2021 03:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My girlfriend is refusing the vax at her work. She has the option of providing a religious exemption, but she feels that going that route is inappropriate as it just confirms to her employer that she doesn't have it. Quoting: Aravoth She's going to stay on until they fire her. It'll put us in a tough spot financially, but I'm with her all the way. She can make more money being a Hooker. "Every hooker I ever met said it beats being a waitress." I have a serious question - serious point about this, though. I have an occupation where there are always open positions and decent pay due to the fact you need an actual aptitude to do it. They tried many years ago to "offshore" the work I do, and/or import foreign kids with credentials to do it. Yet here me and all my colleagues are, having not been offshored or replaced, for two more decades ... because the employers need the right people. Sure, there's churn as various industries go up and down in growth, no job is or life, but there are always jobs. I once had an irate, red faced boss scream at me "DO YOU KNOW WHY YOU ARE STILL HERE?" I simply said, "because good software developers don't grow on trees." That was the end of the conversation. There are many, many other occupations where you can't simply replace 20-30% of your people with people wanting to and able to do that job. Law enforcement. Law itself. Jobs requiring security clearance or special licensing that takes years to achieve the requirements. There are occupations where people have to know what they are doing and put a lot of of years in in order for them to keep things running properly for their employers. This is going to be a big problem for employers. I made decent money in restaurants in college. I'll be fine, but a lot of employers are going to be fucked. You know what we need - we need some software where patriots can gather and organize and plan.. work together. Perhaps it can be an onion site. |

User ID: 77752291 United States 09/14/2021 03:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Seriously, the people we have (naively) entrusted with creating laws have proven time and again that they themselves do not take said laws seriously. So, why then should we? No, not advocating a crime spree. Simply suggesting that, since our world is being radically altered on the whim of powerful lunatics, perhaps it's best that we adapt. I'm suggesting that anyone interested in not just surviving but thriving during any apocalyptic shift in reality should do some serious soul-searching. Get to truly know one's self and reassess moral and ethical values, particularly the source(s) of such dogma. Depressing fact: all groups, organizations, factions, etc. that contain humans are created by humans and, as such, are subject to the primal corruptions of our species. Abandon as many restrictive civil rulesets as possible to be replaced with a more realistic moral code shaped from common sense and basic decency. Most have heard the timeless adage that war changes people. Well, that is precisely to what I'm referring. War is pretty much about as apocalyptic a shift in one's reality as can be imagined and to survive such an environment it becomes necessary to alter one's moral outlook. Above all, analyze and - if necessary - redefine your sense of loyalty. What creates your deepest, strongest bonds? Has this always been healthy for you? It may seem corny but love really should make all involved stronger for the experience, not weaker. Recently I was asked two questions by an increasingly desperate and fearful acquaintance. Who or what can be trusted? AND If a fight comes, how do you know - really KNOW - where to stand? My answer in both cases was, itself, a single question: Who do you love? Leonard Cohen said it best in his song The Future. I've seen the nations rise and fall I've heard their stories, heard them all But love's the only engine of survival You said it, Lenny. ChayOphan |

They may very well "win" in the end. But even if they win they loose. Their real war is against reality and human nature. If I go to meet God or whatever is out there with my life and freedom uncompromised, then I can accept that. I don't want to survive in their world on my knees. And if I can take one or two or more of their thugs with me when I go..well, sorting the karma of that out is above my pay grade. But what are their thugs fighting for? A bowl of Crickets and mealworms? Are they going to risk their lives for that with any real spirit? I think not. Nailed it. It's a war of attrition. No, not advocating a crime spree. Simply suggesting that, since our world is being radically altered on the whim of powerful lunatics, perhaps it's best that we adapt. Very important advice. Americans (+ Canadians) have grown up and lived in a more or less "law abiding society." Things are organized. Things work, and people by and large follow the rules. That all changes when your country becomes a communist shithole. All those rules and laws go out the window. You're living "3rd world style" now. Our neighbors to the south (Mexico, Central/South America). They already understand this lesson well. Gringos will often thumb their noses at these "less developed" countries, but they are well advanced in their education compared to the average American. |
