Ok, so this thread hits home. I walk all over and for the past few months, there have been 1/10th of the active people I usually see. At first, I thought it was because people were happy to take summer vacations and everyone took the chance to run away. Then school started and I guessed everyone was back at work or in school. I see parents in school pickup line but it’s not as long as it used to be. It’s about 1/3 shorter.
Noticed it yesterday when I went for a 5pm walk and there wasn’t another soul around. No kids at the park. No basketball. No runners. So very creepy.

People who used to go to hotels are now going to the vacay rentals - no germy elevators/halls, have a kitchen so less $$$ spent on restaurants, more room for the entire family group to be in one place. Hotels are no longer doing daily maid service, so that is no longer a plus that may have been attractive to some.
