You can definitely put some of the disappearances down to rational reasons, but not all. I just don't believe the flood of posters here explaining this phenomenon away as normal deaths.

People working from home doesn't explain the empty subway carriages at the weekend, and after 8pm, when people go out. neither do vax deaths, lockdowns, people staying in cos they're depressed... No one is depressed round here. Everyone is chilled.

The disappearances are by no means normal. The only explanation I have is a ton of NPCs were deleted during a server branch/redeployment. How? I don't know. We'd have to look at Westworld or The Matrix.
