I actually know several who have died of Covid, three in the past two weeks. But that isn't why there's so many help wanted signs. One thing in the SoCal area that happened is that when Disneyland laid everyone off a year ago they all went somewhere else to work in other states or areas. Then they decided to reopen and hire people again. They paid a lot more for these new hires so they could lure them away from other restaurants and service industry jobs. I've talked to several restaurant managers in OC and they said they can't find cooks to hire now so they're understaffed, same with servers. Disneyland sucked up all the workers around here. So restaurants can't open at full capacity.
