Reporting in from rural Oregon here- I have also noticed significantly less people in stores and stuff, but the main reason I am chiming-in here is a twice in the last month or so we have had what I feel (based upon many years living of in 'inner cities', etc.) to be 'gang-banger' type Mexican young men knock on our front door, out of the blue. One asked if he could pay me $100 to pull a catalytic converter from a vehicle sitting on our side yard, the other outright asking to buy a different vehicle. (we rarely drive it and it has a few cobwebs on it and he said he noticed them. I should also add we live in a quite neighborhood, off the beaten path on a dead-end street).

As soon as they saw me answer (I'm a large (intimidating I've been told) male with vet plates on my vehicle) and we have a big-ass dog who barks when someone knocks- They can't seem to get out of here quick enough when they see me, sorta yelling their offer over their shoulder as they bail- I'm like wait, why don't you leave your number and I'll talk to thee wife about it...?" "Naw, I'm good man, I'm not from here" they both replied. -Well NO shit I thought.

It was odd the first time and straight strange the second- If I didn't know better, I would think these guys were 'casing' my place or something. It used to be (10 years ago) you couldn't get a decent burrito to save your life around these parts. Now, the most common language I hear in the grocery store is Spanish, and many/most appear to be straight off the bus (still wearing the shit they bought in Mexico- Hecka short people with cowboy hats, boots, etc.)

IDK... shit is getting weirder by the day here- they are also currently throwing-up a fucking FEMA camp in our small (under 10k pop) town, like a mile from our house- the SECOND one I might add. They say it is for victims of the fire, bu those were over a year ago now, so...?
