Why would people go back to the old ways? They did it before because they were told they HAD to. That was life, get up and go do it. But covid sent them all home. To chill with the kids, snuggle the wife. Take time cooking. Bake some bread. Read a book, start a hobby. Spend time with elderly parents. Smell the freaking roses. And now they are told to stop all that and get back to reality. I think what we are seeing right now is the seeds germinating that will bring about a much needed restructuring. We desperately need shorter work weeks, longer vacations, higher quality of life. Once we start demanding it the pieces will fall into place. with automation becoming a greater threat soon there wont be as many jobs anyway.
